The First Step for BSSC Basketball Community

Considering BINUS Square’s boarder’s interest in basketball, BINUS Square Student Committee (BSSC) recently formed BSSC Basketball Community. BSSC Basketball Community is a Sort Community that was initiated and coordinated by Sport Division of BSSC with a purpose To gather & facilitate boarders of BINUS Square to practice and play basketball together. BSSC Basketball Community currently had gathered 41 active members and scheduled weekly meetings every Saturday afternoon at Raffles College.

At the date of 12 Mei 2019, BSSC Basketball Community held a sparring with members of Keluarga Mahasiswa Buddhist Dhammavaddhana(KMBD), one of student organization at BINUS University, at Raffles College. This sparring has a purpose of adding experience and training our members in terms of skill, teamwork, and mental in the match, and also building a good relationship between BSSC and KMBD. BSSC Basketball Community was represented by a team consists of 12 boarders from BINUS Square while KMBD Basketball Team was represented by a team consists of 11 members of KMBD.

Before the competition started, each team had a warm-up which lasted for 10 minutes to reduce the risk of injury in the match and had a group photo for documentation. In the first quarter, the BSSC team played pretty well and consistent, this has let the team to lead in the first quarter. The flow of the match in the second quarter was still in the favor of the BSSC team with its consistency in playing. At the end of the first half, the score was 32 – 10, BSSC lead. Entering the 3rd half, the BSSC team’s game had become less consistent. The performance of the KMBD team was getting better so that in rounds 3 and 4, they scored more points and was catching up to the score. However, the match was still won by BSSC Basketball Community with a score of 47 – 29. The game went well and smoothly. Both sides gained a fun & challenging experience that can hopefully help improve each team’s expertise.
