BSSC WONDER 2026 “The Golden Quest, Surpassing Limits”

BSSC WONDER 2026, themed “The Golden Quest, Surpassing Limits,” was one of the main work programs of the BINUS Square Student Committee (BSSC) 16th Presidency. Designed as a Fresher’s Week, the event aimed to welcome the new boarders of 2026, help them get familiar with BINUS Square, and create meaningful connections among them before the academic year officially began. Inspired by the world of Percy Jackson, the event invited participants to step into Camp Half-Blood (a secret training ground and safe haven for demigods). The new boarders were divided into 10 cabins or groups, each named after a Greek god or goddess, and guided by Team Leaders throughout the day. The concept was simple yet immersive, where every cabin would face different challenges on each game post, collect points, search for hidden drachmas or Drachma Hunt, and eventually take part in a Performance Battle to “defeat Kronos”.  The whole experience was built around teamwork, courage, and the spirit of surpassing limits.

The event took place on Saturday and Sunday, 5-6 September 2026, across several areas of BINUS Square Hall of Residence, including the Exhibition Hall as the main stage, Pool Side as Game Post 1, Teras Oak Room as Game Post 2, Reading Room as Game Post 3, Lounge as Game Post 4, and Oak Room as Game Post 5.

The day began with registration and cabin assignment. Once everyone had settled, the opening ceremony was hosted by the Masters of Ceremony, Irene and Halwa. After a short prayer, they introduced the theme and encouraged every cabin to shout their energy. The Team Leaders were also introduced as the companions who would stay with their cabins until the end of the quest

Several important figures then delivered welcoming remarks, including Gracia Grasela as the Project Manager of BSSC WONDER 2026, Yonggara Halim Senata as the Chairman of BSSC 16th Presidency, Muhammad Raziva Ramza Aziz as the Student Organizer Advisor of BSSC, and Miss Yuliana as the General Manager of BINUS Square Hall of Residence.

Following the speeches, the participants were introduced to the key support roles in BINUS Square, also known as BSA (BINUS Square Ambassador), that consists of Floor Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Academic Ambassador, Care Companion, and BSSC Senior Committee. The representatives of these BSA briefly shared what they do and how they support boarders in daily life. The Floor Coordinators explained their role in maintaining the living environment on each floor, while the Housing Coordinators talked about residential matters and programs. The Academic Ambassador shared how they assist boarders with academic-related concerns, and the Care Companion highlighted their role in providing personal support and well-being. Lastly, the BSSC Senior Committee introduced themselves as the student organization that connects boarders and organizes various activities throughout the year. This session helped the new boarders to understand the people and systems that are ready to support them during their stay.

After the introduction, the main adventure began. Participants rotated through five game posts, each themed after a Greek god and designed to test different skills. Post 1, hosting Water Transfer Challenge, is a game that requires each cabin to transfer as much water as possible from one bucket to another. Some members were blindfolded and guided only by voice, while others formed a human chain using PVC clear sheets to pass the water. Coordination and clear communication became the real challenge, especially when obstacles were added along the path.

Post 2, hosting Gesture Relay, each cabin lined up and took turns completing a gesture relay. The game tested communication, creativity, and teamwork under time pressure, and often produced funny and chaotic moments as the gestures changed from one person to the next.

Post 3, hosting Balance Tug of War, pairs from two cabins stood on one leg inside the marked floor while holding two long cloths. They had to pull against each other for a full 60 seconds. The pair that managed to make their opponents lose balance more times within the time limit scored the point. It was intense, physical, and full of laughter.

Post 4, hosting Musical Chairs, both cabins mixed together in one large circle. As the instrumental music played, participants danced around the chairs, and quickly grabbed the chair as the music stopped at random peace. The energy was high, and the atmosphere quickly turned competitive yet joyful.

Post 5, hosting Tower Up, each cabin must build their tallest and most stable tower using a limited number of plastic straws and pieces of tape. Well-managed team work, creativity and careful construction were the key to success.

Throughout the games, cabins also searched for hidden drachmas scattered around the play areas, adding an extra layer of exploration to the experience.

After a break and short re-opening, the event moved into the Performance Battle. Each cabin prepared and presented a creative performance that showcased their teamwork and spirit. This segment became the emotional peek of the day, a moment where the idea of unity and surpassing limits felt most real. The performances were diverse, energetic, and full of personal touches from every cabin. The event concluded with the announcement of the best-performing cabins, a short appreciation session, and a group photo. For many participants, it marked the official beginning of their journey as part of the BINUS Square community.

Looking back, BSSC WONDER 2026 successfully created more than just an orientation event. It gave the new borders a chance to laugh together, struggle together, and start building friendships in a setting that felt both fun and meaningful. Through the combination of Greek mythology, team challenges, and creative performances, the event managed to turn the early days at BINUS Square into a shared adventure. The Golden Quest may have ended, but the connections and memories formed during those two days will hopefully continue as the boarders begin their university life.
