BSSC Sport Class – Let’s Swim Your Stress Away
Sport Class is an annual event held by Sport Division of BSSC. BSSC Sport Class was held to help boarders learn more about sport. This year, BSSC Sport Division held Swimming Class.
Swimming is a sport that requires the use of arms and legs to move in the water. This time, Sport Class’s theme is “Let’s Swim Your Stress Away” which means sometimes boarder need some activities to relax or relieve their stress. There were 10 participants who registered for Swimming Class.
The first meeting was held on Sunday, 13th May 2018. The first shift was attended by 5 participants. On the first meeting, the participants were taught about basic swimming techniques such as “taking a breath”, “kick”, and “slide”. Before the class started, the participants warmed up led by the coach to avoid injuries. After that, the participants started the training with the coach. The participants were excited to learn swimming techniques.
The second meeting was held on Sunday, 20th May 2018. The first shift was attended by 2 participants and the second shift was attended by 3 participants. On this second meeting, the participants were taught about how the arms move when they swim. Then, the participants reviewed techniques from first meeting.
The third meeting was held on Friday, 25th May 2018. The first shift was attended by 1 participant and the second one was also attended by 1 participant. On this meeting the participants reviewed techniques from second meeting and continue with the “breast stroke” training.
The fourth and last meeting was held on Saturday, 2nd June 2018. This meeting was attended by 2 participants. On the last meeting, one of the participant were taught to swim Butterfly Stroke. The participants were really looking forward to learn new swimming techniques. Before the class ended, the committee gave the coach a certificate as a token of appreciation for teaching the Swimming Class.
