We found that saving is the action that is easy to say but hard to do. Sometimes, the hardest part about saving money is where we should start it. Here are 5 basic tips that will help you to save more efficiently:
1. Set the amount of money to save each month
Let’s say each month you get Rp3.000.000,-. You set aside Rp500.000,- each month as the amount you want to save in the bank. Act like that Rp500.000,- doesn’t exist and make this a habit, so even if you spend the rest of your money, you will not get tempted to spend it.
2. Keep a budget
It’s a good idea to look how much you spend on food, rent, etc. in a month. If you’re able to track how much money you need in month, It’ll be easier for you to know the limit of what you can spend and you can either save the rest of the money or buy what you want.
3. Have a plan
A good way to prevent wasting money is to list exactly what you need. If you go shopping without making a plan, you’ll end up buying things that are not on the list. Making a list allows you to avoid wasting money for things you don’t need at all.
4. Drink more water
Water is healthy and cheap. If you drink water, you’ll drink less juice, soda, and other expensive beverages. By drinking a large amount of water before having a meal, you’ll be less hungry and you’ll eat less food too.
5. Never give up
Saving money is not that easy. Remember that you’re not alone and that it’s a long-term commitment. If you think you can’t do it, get support from people around you by discussing this with them and find out the solution for saving money.
