BSSC 101
BSSC is in the middle of selecting its new head for the next presidency to come! One of the activity in the selection process is a training specially conducted by the Election Team of BSSC 8th Presidency that was held on 1st and 3rd of June 2018.The participants of the training were the currently active members of BSSC that have the intention to learn a lot more about leadership and organization, especially about how to be a fitting chairman of BSSC. The first day of the training began with comprehension of organizational values and definitions which are fundamental in building an organization culture. Followed by materials of leadership and communication skills, we broke down leadership and power aspects as well as how to communicate clearly as a leader. The session continued with an in-depth simulation of some of activities that they will faced if they were chosen as the next chairman of BSSC. Afterward, we were brainstorming together to create and analyze the significant aspects of events related to BSSC.
There were a bunch of practices and interactions in the second day. We started the day with a mind-setting session where the participants can directly hear and ask questions around the people that shaped BSSC as well as the reasons why they did so. It’s a moment where the future members having a dialogue personally with the experienced past members that have a lot to share. Subsequently, they were presenting their unique event ideas and challenge each other’s concepts in a session. The training also included a priority assortment challenges using cards and also a Focus Group Discussion where we debated some of the most unsolved dilemma in BSSC. The last session is a reflection moment where we review that we’ve learned during the last 2 days and ended with breakfasting together. The election team hoped that all the participants are getting something from the training. However, as what we’ve told the participants on the first day: “What you learn today is your own responsibility!”.
