Japanese Language Class
Japanese Language Class was held by BSSC Culture division. The first Japanese Language Class that was held by BSSC was on 21st march. The aim of this class was to improve boarder’s knowledge on Japanese, might it be languages, culture or etiquette. Boarders are able to make new friends with Japanese student that teaches Japanese Language Class and other boarders that join the class.
Japanese Class was taught by teachers that came directly from japan, there are Suzuki Asuka, Matsumoto Sumire, and Soma Taichi. The class was held for a total of seven meetings (6 in-class and 1 outing). In the last meeting, students and teacher hung out together to washoku sato, a Japanese restaurant. While the other meetings that was held per week, are about basic conversation, how to introduce yourself, hiragana, katakana, etc. Not only studying, there were also mini-games such as splitting watermelon (suika-wari), Ohanami, and others.
Japanese Language Class got great responses from the students, it was proved by the survey conducted. 95% of the responses were positive. Students got what they wanted from the teachers, like Japanese culture, games, even their language on how to read or pronounce them. The same also occur to the teachers, they got the experience of teaching and sharing their culture to students, they also learned Indonesian culture from conversation that happened while on class. We hope that for the next language class, we could open another Japanese class again and make it better than before.
