Since the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the world, the WHO (Word Health Organization) has held the #SehatDiRumah campaign to maintain health, not only mentally but also physically, which needs to be maintained during the pandemic. Indonesia was also affected, everyone must be at home and not go out, if it is not important.

Restrictions on outside activities make many people unable to carry out activities and exercise routinely. Therefore, people around the world including Indonesian are advised to do regular exercise that can increase endurance at home during the COVID-19 pandemic that has not been resolved and no cure has been found.

Due to the ineffectiveness of doing outdoor sports, there are several sports that can be done during the COVID -19 pandemic, such as:

  • The first exercise we can do at home is jumping jacks which have the benefit of preventing heart disease and strengthening thigh, calf, and shoulder muscles. How to do jumping jacks are:
      1. Stand with your legs straight, hands at your sides
      2. Jumping while spreading your legs and hands up touching or clapping
      3. Jump again while lowering both hands and feet return to starting position
  • Then, the next exercise we can do is cardio by burning fat like running and using skipping as an alternative if you don’t have a treadmill.
  • Not only that, but we can also do sit-ups and planks which are the simplest sports and don’t require any tools that we need to do. Planks and sit-ups are useful for strengthening the upper body such as the chest and making the body more fit, if done regularly.
  • The last one is Yoga and dancing where exercise can be done at home by watching the tutorial video/instructor video in person. This exercise seems easy but useful for burning fat.

Therefore exercising at home is not a bad choice, by at home we can monitor each other’s health conditions, we can save more money because we don’t need to go out to the gym, other sports venues and have more time together to do sports to have a healthy and fit body.
