Youth is best understood as a period transition from the dependence of childhood to adulthood. Based on the oxford dictionary, youth is the time of life when a person is young, especially the time before a child becomes an adult. And to be clear, youth is the important age of changing as well as the important age of today’s society and the future’s society. The youth need to have a role to play because the future is literally lying in their hands.

The role of youth is simply to renew, refresh, and maintain. The youth need to renew and refresh current status of society and they need to work on how to maintain if the society really are changing to a better way.

Since the youth hold an important role to our society’s future, they need to be educated, guided, advised, explore, and thaught so that we can fulfil what we’ve been dreaming of.

To be listed, here are some roles of the youth in the society:

  • After some time, the youth are expected to be the next parents. Intermarriages between the youth will bring sharing of ethnic cultures and this will improve peace within the communities.
  • The youth are expected to protect their culture and tradition while at the same time they need to make it better and embrace the changes in the society.
  • The youth will be the example for the younger generation.
  • The youth will be the next employee. If the youth can, they can try to bring the new innovations, new skills in the job industry.
  • The youth can develop their knowledge and personality, even though in a small step, it’s already a big thing.
  • And of course, by doing all the roles they need to create happiness, and then the journey of the youth is fulfilling their life.

Nothing comes into a silver plate, which means that if the youth didn’t accomplish their role, then that’s okay, nothing will happen. Education is the main thing. So, apart from the roles above, the youth need to study since it is the key to success and developing, it can be said education is the main priority of the youth.

Let’s tell the others that the youth have intelligence and skills. Show them what the youth are made of. Who knows, maybe you might be surprised at how proud of yourself because you just made an accomplishment, no matter big or small it is, accomplishments still accomplishments.

This is a wakeup call for all the youths, the time is now. Our future is in our own hands. Let us arise and work towards our future.
