BSSC Culture Share “Viva La Fiesta”
Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music, and arts. Therefore, the Culture Division of BSSC (BINUS Square Student Committee) held Culture Share, an annual cultural event that showcases cultures from around the world. This year, the countries that enliven the event are China, Korea, France, and of course, Indonesia. The theme of Culture Share 2019 is “Viva La Fiesta”, which means “Long Live The Party” or “The Party Never Dies”. With the colorful decorations and also cheerful festivities, we want everyone to get carried away by the vibes that we gave. There was exciting stuff in this event, those are food bazaar of each country participating, games to play, a Kahoot! quiz, Best Moment Contest and also performances from boarders, local and even international ones. The event was held in BINUS Square, particularly at the Exhibition Area and Poolside Area.
The food bazaar was held in the Exhibition Area, people who pass by can buy food from various countries. There were four stands opened, each stand represents one country’s unique dish of China, Korea, France, and Indonesia. The Chinese stand sells Kung Pao Chicken and Rice as the main course. For the Indonesian stand, Es Cendol was served as it is one of the traditional drinks from Indonesia which was made with brown sugar and coconut milk. The Korean stand cooked Korean Potato Pancakes also called Gamja Jeon as the appetizer. While the French stand made Crêpes as the dessert. Meanwhile, in the middle of the Exhibition Area, people can enjoy a variety of performances from the local boarders and various boarders from other countries such as songs and traditional dance.
Also not forgetting to mention the fun games that are provided for people to play on the table while they eat, that is FunTime. In this section of the event, we provide our guests with a lot of board games, card-based games, and many other games such as Jenga, Werewolf Cards, UNO Cards, Truth or Dare, and even Ludo. It gives us happiness and joy and that’s why people who came loved FunTime so much even more so because they’re all Free-to-Play.
In the Poolside Area, there were games booths where people can come, play, and have fun. There are five kinds of games that are available which were Hoop Toss, Matching Card, Blow The Pong, Can Throwing, and Dart Balloon. By playing these games booths, players can win various prizes by collecting points. After winning the games they can exchange their points that are written in the voucher and collect the prize they get based on the points tier.
