Welcoming New Youth!

WELCOMING NEW YOUTH!

BSSC EXPO is one of the many annual event of BSSC that was held for 2 days from 29th until 30th August 2018. This year, our theme was “A Fresh Beginning”. The meaning of this theme is to give new boarders a refreshing and fun carnival-ish atmosphere. Like every year, BSSC EXPO will introduce all divisions in BSSC such as Art, Creative Media, Culture, HRD, IT, Public Relations, Social, and Sport Division.

To create the carnival atmosphere, the main color of this event was mostly red, yellow and blue. There are also tents for every division to make it look even merrier. There’s a lot of decoration in this EXPO, also based on carnival. At the stairs to the cafeteria and also near Operation Room on the 2nd floor, a mini triangle-shaped flags can be seen filling the area. This decoration can also be seen at the Exhibition Area, hanging from tents to tents, forming a zigzag formation. The flag in the back is slightly loose to tell people that it is the end of EXPO area. Meanwhile, on the glass that faces the entrance of BINUS Square, there’s an installation of the sign BSSC EXPO 2018 which is made of cardboard and styrofoam. Also, on the glass, there’s an installation of circles made from carton in 3 colors (blue, yellow, and red) with 3 different sizes from big, medium, and small. The bigger ones are stacked at the bottom area of the glass and moving up, the circles get smaller. To fill up the gaps, the small circles are used. The carton used is also two sided, so from the outside it can also be seen. So people would know that there’s an event going on in BINUS Square.

This year, BSSC EXPO has a maze-like flow, in which boarders have to go through 8 tents for 8 divisions in BSSC, 1 tower, and BSSC recruitment booth. There will be 2 committees showing them the way to BSSC EXPO. At the EXPO entrance, there will be one committee who will welcome them as well as direct the boarder to fill in the participant’s registration. After filling it out, the boarder will be directed to a Tour Guide.  Tour Guides will assist boarders around the divisions in BSSC. Starting from Art Division, proceed to Public Relations, then to HRD, Sport, IT, Creative Media, Social, and finally Culture where each division has 3 minutes to explain in general about the division. After circling the 8 divisions, the tour guide will take the boarder to the tower in the middle of the maze. This tower contains five major BSSC events like Earth Hour, Festival, Wonder, BSSC EXPO, and Squarelympic. After the tower, boarder is then directed to BSSC registration, where the boarder was given the opportunity to register BSSC and fill out a questionnaire.
