BLOOD DONATION – “GIVE BLOOD SAVE LIFE”
Blood donation is one of BSSC’s annual event organized by Social Division. This year’s blood donation theme was “Give Blood Save Life”. It means that every blood that have been donated can save the lives of others in need. This event was done in collaboration with PMI Jakarta as a way to increase blood supply at PMI. The purpose of this event is to facilitate boarders and all BINUS Square staff who wants to donate their blood for others in need and to motivate them to make blood donation as their lifestyle because it can give them a lot of benefits for their health.
Blood donation was held on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at Oak Room, BINUS Square from 11 AM – 2 PM. There were a total of 75 people who donated. There were several requirements for blood donation, some participants were not allowed to donate their blood due to not meeting the requirements of blood donation, such as underweight, not enough HB, less than 3 months of blood donor interval, not enough rest, etc.. But it did not make the participants discouraged and they want to try again in the next event.
For participants who pass the requirements, they can donate their blood. After they donate their blood, they will get a snack that was given by PMI in the form of biscuits, milk, instant noodles, and also medicine to restore the condition of their body after donating blood. This year, there were a simple, clean photo booth area so they can take pictures together with cute properties to create memories. By holding this event, we hope that BINUS Square boarders and staff can continue to participate in actions that can help others.
