Bali is one of the most popular travel destination, which has seen a significant rise in tourists since the 1980s. But it seems so many tourists have a difficult time and because of this, some of them didn’t enjoy their vacation in Bali. Here some hacks/tips for you guys so you can enjoy your vacation in Bali better.

  1. They use a lot of sugar syrups here in Indonesia.

If you want a healthy shake or juice, be sure to ask for no sugar when ordering. Maybe some of the menu don’t list it on the ingredient, but they will put it in anyway.

  1. Carry cash with you.

A lot of restaurant, stalls, markets, and travel agencies will be cash only so it’s a good idea to have money on you. Of course, you don’t want to carry a lot of money, but being prepared is good. ATM’s aren’t common in Indonesia, so prepare your cash if you want to go to Bali.

  1. Dress respectably.

When entering the temples, be sure to cover your knees with a long skirt/trousers and your shoulders too, if possible. This is an absolute must, it is forbidden by Balinese not to do so.

  1. Hiring a driver for the day in Bali costs you about 700.000 IDR.

You can go out with friends or family in one car and you can get cheaper price if you bring more friends.

  1. Homestays are the cheapest way to travel.

Homestays usually involve staying in a family run property in a basic, but usually clean room. The price is around 200.000 IDR for this type of accommodation and often includes breakfast.

  1. Be careful of Bali Belly!

Our stomachs aren’t resistant to the same bacteria as the local so eating or drinking the same of them can cause issues. Bring some Imodium, be mindful and stay hydrated.
