1. Practice
Practice is very important, so you’re mentally prepared for the interview itself. 2. Research
Try to do research about the company that you apply to. Try to relate your answer to things you have learned from your research about the company. Building rapport or connection with your interviewer will lead to a bigger chance of getting hired because people tend to hire candidates that they like personally.
3. Prepare
Don’t forget that you must prepare everything such as your outfit, resume, pen or pencil, and other essential things you need for your interview from the day before. So, you don’t need to worry about anything during the day of your interview.
4. Use your body
Body language is more important than you think. For example, you can do something simple like showing your smile when you meet the interviewer or look your interviewer in the eyes. Also, using hand gestures when you’re talking have proven effective because it makes you calmer and make you look more confident during the interview.
5. Stay calm
This is essential, because if you panic during your interview, you won’t be able to answer anything because your mind will forget everything you know during your panic attack. So, try to be calm. Remember that your body language says as much about you, as you’re answering to the questions. With proper preparation, you will be able to stay calm. But, if you still panic during your interview, try to take a moment and take a deep breath, it may not able to fully make you calm, but at least you can think straight.
6. Close the interview properly
Don’t forget to end an interview with a warm “thank you” and to mention anything your forgot to say during the interview.
