1. Random Access Memory

The first thing is choose the laptop that has a big RAM, the bigger the better. As usual, programmer will always use a virtual machine, and virtual machine takes a lot of RAM. The RAM that you need is at least 8 GB.

2. SSD

First of all, I want to explain what is SSD and HDD. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a computer component that acts as storage for pc that has various capacity like 500 GB, 1 TB, etc. Solid State Drive (SSD) is just like a Hard Disk Drive, but it’s faster because it contains a lot of physical memory chip, that’s why SSD is faster than HDD. 4. Keyboard

The fourth one, make sure your laptop keyboard is convenient to type on. You can even check the switch of the keyboard if it is necessary. As usual, programmer’s activity is mainly typing. That’s why it’s important.

5. Processor

Next one is the processor. For the processor, at least it has a baseline horsepower that’s equivalent to an Intel Core i3. If yours are below that, your laptop will run slower than you expect it to, because it needs more speed to compile your code that you made.

6. Graphic Card

Graphic card is not fully necessary, except if you are programmer for 3D applications. The reason is because in fact, you don’t need graphic card capability at all during programming. You only need a high capability on RAM and Processor.

7. Case Metal Laptop

In the future, programmer will spend a lot of their time in front of their PC or laptop. So, metal case laptop can be your priority. The reason on why you need it are because for the product’s longetivity and metal case can made the heat circulation from laptop better.

8. Screen Resolution

Programmer will need a monitor with the high resolution because they will use the code that has a lot of small punctuation for coding. If the screen resolution is higher, it will be easier to see the small punctuation in your code.
