CADRE FORMING 2017 – FIRST AND SECOND DAY

Every year, BSSC(Binus Square Student Committee) recruits new members. There are 3 part of selection for the new members of BSSC. The first one is submit an event proposal, the second one is interview, and the last one is Cadre Forming. Cadre Forming is part of the selection process for the new members to join BSSC. There are 2 types of Cadre Forming, one is for the new members that is called the activists of BSSC 8th Presidency, and the other is for the seniors who were the activists of BSSC 7th Presidency.

On the first day of Cadre Forming which was held on the 29th of September, the Vice Rector Student Affairs & Community Development of BINUS University, Mr. Johan held a seminar. He talked about commitment and time management. Then, in the next session there were representatives from PDC(Program Development Center) and SCDC(Student Creativity and Development Center) who talked about student organizations, proposal, financial report, MoA(Memorandum of Agreement), etc.. While for the seniors, there were a training session about commitment, and then an informal sharing session, so they can get close with each other.

The next day, the new members were taught about how to make an event proposal, poster, and how to present their event. There were judges who gave advices and questions at the end of their presentation. On the other hand, the seniors were taught about the process of bidding. Bidding is a crucial process for those who wants to become a project manager of an event.

So, the purpose of Cadre Forming for the new members is to prepare them to face their impending year at BSSC. While for the seniors, Cadre Forming is to unite their goals and visions in 8th Presidency. This was also the one chance for the seniors to know each other more and to understand BSSC’s bidding process. Hopefully BSSC can be a better organization in the future.
