BINUS Square Student Committee (BSSC) Sport Division is a division that specially handles sport and health activities for boarders in BINUS Square. One of the activities is OBER (Olahraga Bersama). Why it is called OBER? OBER is an event held for boarders to do sport activity together with one another. One of the main reason is for boarders to get to know each other, increase their soft skill, and encourage them live healthily by not to forgetting to do some exercise even when they are busy doing their work. Because when students are busy with their study and campus activities, they always forget what is important for them – their health. So, OBER is the one activity that can increase their awareness and remind them about their health.

This is the 3rd time OBER held by BSSC Sport Division. In this OBER, Gobak Sodor and Hand Ball was included in the Event. What is Gobak Sodor? Gobak Sodor is the one of the traditional games in Indonesia, especially in Java. However, this game is not popular in this era. Because this days, everyone is addicted to gadgets and more modern stuffs. In this OBER, the participants will be divided into teams of four. For Gobak Sodor, two teams will play against each other, one team will be on defence and the other is going to play offense. The defending team goal is to block anyone from the offense team that want to reach the finish line. After the game is done, the team will switch role after the first round of the game is finished. So, the defence team will be the offense team, and the offense team will be the defence team.

The second game is Hand Ball. Two teams will be playing against each other. In this game, each team’s goal is to score as many as possible by hitting the suspended bottle with a ball. The bottles are tied and hung on goal posts, one on each goal post. Players must pass the ball using only their hands before trying to hit the opposing team’s bottle.

Both games will help boarder to train and strengthen their teamwork, learn to strategize, improve their team communication, speed, and agility. There are 16 boarders that participate in this event. Enthusiasm of the participants are showed when they do the activity.
