BSSC Earth Hour 2017
BSSC Earth Hour 2017 had been held for 4 days, on March 19th; 24th; 25th; and 26th. BSSC Earth Hour 2017 also consisted of 3 events: Earth Hour Campaign (CFD) and Donation; Pre-Event; and Main Event. On those big 3 events, BSSC Earth Hour held a mini event, like talent show and drawing competition with turning off the lamp as our climax. And in the end, this event also closed by planting trees on the Donation’s day.
Earth Hour Campaign was held on March 19th, 2017 from Gelora Bung Karno until Bundaran Hotel Indonesia. This event also followed by 100 participants, socializing about Earth Hour to every passerby at CFD. Not only socializing, every participant also helped to maintain the cleanliness on the CFD by picking and putting every trash they take to the trash can. After walking around 5 kilometers, the participants re-socialize Earth Hour to the people around the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia. At the end of the day, all participants and the committees took a photo to commemorate and celebrate that the Earth Hour Campaign had ended.
Pre-event was held on March 24th 2017 at BINUS Square, Exhibition Hall BINUS Anggrek. In this event, we worked together with WWF to be our speaker on the “One Planet: A Billion Hopes and Dreams” seminar at Exhibition Hall BINUS Anggrek. WWF also opened a stand at BINUS Square. There was also a total of 7 stand, museum pengetahuan, games corner, and photo booth. Continued with talent show that was started at 6 pm until 8.30 pm. Various performances from band, singing, to dancing awed the audiences in Exhibition Area. All participants showed amazing talent that captured the eyes of either judges and audiences. With the 1st winner is “Anima Musika”, following closely 2nd place there was “Jovanna”, and the third place taken by “Kitaji”.
The main event was held on March 25th 2017 at BINUS Square. The opening was marked with the opening speech from the Project Manager continued by the EXCOM BSSC along with the starts of drawing competition, games corner, photo booth, museum of knowledge, and 7 stands that sells foods and drinks. After that, the drawing competition goes on, along with a mini game from the MC, also some performances from the boarders. The games and the performances from boarders keep going on until the last performance by Golden Ace, after that we had a break, and continued by some performances before the countdown for the switch off as our main highlight while the committee turn on the candles. After the countdown, Coki Pardede Reza, the guest star did a stand up, entertaining all people on the Exhibition Area BINUS Square. Then, Vivace and Paramabira continued to entertain all people there. In the end, the committee gave a special performance, doing the flash mob as the closing of our main event.
The final event, kegiatan donasi was held on March 26th 2017. This event located on RW 2. In this day, we created a climate change movement by planting 60 trees along the location by 100 participants. We also clean the area to make the earth better, throwing the trash to where it should be. We also give some trees to the residents of RW 2. This day also concludes BSSC Earth Hour 2017 which started with Earth Hour Campaign. One third of the surplus of this event is donated to WWF as part our concern towards saving the future of the earth. BSSC Earth Hour 2017! Save the Future!!
