THE 32nd FOLLOW-UP CADRE FORMING: LEADING THE WAY TO EXTRAORDINARY CHANGE

On June 11 and 12, BNEC held the 32nd Follow-Up Cadre Forming through the online video conference app Zoom. Cadre Forming is a leadership development program annually held by Binus English Club, intricately formed to build adaptability, organizational knowledge, and most importantly leadership skills in active members in order to better prepare them for their position in the  Board of Management where they may encounter with various new challenges, struggles and problems in hopes of reaching a new level of Extraordinary.

The Follow-Up Cadre Forming was held in order to provide an opportunity for newly joined active members from the New Member Recruitment Even 2025 held in May 2025, as well as previous members who were not able to join the initial Cadre Forming due to various circumstances.

The structure of the two-day event follows the following rundown:

Day 1, 11 June

The event starts at 08:40 AM with an opening session, where the Project Officer GianIna Clariene Christophilus opens with a welcoming speech, followed by the General President, and then the Regional Presidents of each region. In order of Kemanggisan, Alam Sutera, Bekasi, Senayan and finally Bandung.

After opening remarks, the agenda continued with a series of educational presentations. First, the BNEC Culture & Self- Discipline Session brought by Alexander Rafael, then a Responsibility & Professionalism Session brought by Gianina Clariene, and third, a Leadership Session brought by Calista Lianardi.

The day concluded with the selection of the POs and VPOs, based on their active participation in the Q&A sessions that followed the presentations. Subsequently, members for their respective groups were chosen. A documentation session was then held to commemorate the day.

Day 2, 12 June

On the second day, we begin with an opening and some ice-breaking to energize the participants. It is then followed by the six predetermined phases of The Project Event Making Reconception, which would be accomplished by the seven teams formed the day before.

In the Concepting phase, groups developed initial event ideas based on a given case study. They outlined objectives, themes, target participants, and innovations, refining their concepts with feedback from Regional Presidents and Chief Officers.

During Job Delegation, group leaders assigned roles across the Event, Logistics, and Marketing divisions. A feedback session was held to help improve leadership strategy and role clarity.

Timeline Structuring involved creating a three-month preparation plan. Groups mapped out milestones and deadlines, then received critiques to ensure strategic and feasible planning.

In the Design and Marketing Concept phase, groups built their event’s branding and promotional strategy, including a design theme, color palette, and outreach timeline. These plans were reviewed and refined through mentor feedback.

The Proposal Period had each group consolidate their work into a formal event proposal. The General Secretary and Treasurer reviewed these documents, offering feedback on clarity, structure, and completeness.

During Finalization, groups refined their proposals and prepared presentations. Each team then delivered their final event plans to the Steering Committee and Group PICs in a live virtual session.

The program concluded with the online inauguration of the new Board of Management and the introduction of the Steering and Managing Committees. This marked the official leadership transition and celebrated the achievements of all participating groups. With that, the 32nd Follow-Up Cadre Forming effectively equipped new BoM members with essential leadership, event planning, and teamwork skills in a well-adapted virtual format.
