The 30th UMS Jubilee International Speech Championship

We’re thrilled to announce that BINUS English Club is set to make its mark at the upcoming Universiti Malaysia Sabah Toastmasters Club (UMS TMC) inter-university speech contest this November in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Representing BINUS at this prestigious event are two accomplished students, Aisha Bintang from Psychology major and Keisha Singlie from Information System Major, both are binusian 27, and ready to showcase their public speaking skills on an international platform.

The UMS Toastmasters Club is part of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization that has been empowering people with public speaking and leadership skills since 1924. UMS Toastmasters Club was reinstated in July 2024 and has quickly become a center for students to refine their speaking abilities, with immense support from the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). This year’s event promises an exciting experience, connecting students from across Asia in a contest that promotes self-confidence, creativity, and eloquence.

Participants from various universities will not only compete but also enjoy an enriching cultural experience, including accommodations, meals, and a tour of the beautiful Mount Kinabalu—all covered by the UMS TMC! We are proud to see Aisha and Keisha represent BINUS University, and we wish them great success in showcasing their skills and bringing home new experiences and inspiration for their peers.

Stay tuned for updates on their journey and cheer them on as they compete at UMS Toastmasters Inter-University Speech Contest!
