TIME MANAGEMENT: LIFE HACKS!
Having good time management skills is of course very important to have. This ability is needed by students, as well as people who are already working. However, sometimes we find it difficult to manage time properly because we feel tired, stressed, or distracted by various things. Therefore, here are some ways that you can do to help you manage your time well.
Create a good mood
Stress usually occurs when we have a lot of work to complete. This makes us tired before doing the next activity. Therefore, before starting the day, it is important for us to look at our situation. If we’re not feeling well, we can do things like listen to upbeat songs, go out for a short walk, and meditate before starting work to get in a good mood. With a good mood, we will certainly work better and stress can be avoided.
In essence, we can find out what is suitable for us to do when we are stressed so that feelings can return to good. However, if you don’t have time to do these things, trying some breathing techniques for a few minutes can also help.
Know your limits
In order to stay productive and not burn out, it’s important that we set boundaries for ourselves. If you are feeling tired and stressed, you can rest for 10 to 15 minutes or even schedule your break. This is because fatigue and stress can be self-defeating and drain energy.
In addition, when you feel that you have been burdened with your current job, you must have the courage to say no politely if you are given a new job. Saying no does not mean we are selfish, but it is a way to protect ourselves and the time we have. With a sufficient workload, we will certainly be able to maximize the time we have to complete the existing work.
Identify priorities
Before starting the day with work, we can start by making a list of tasks that need to be done immediately. It’s because tasks that aren’t very important can take up a lot of valuable time, and we will also waste energy doing them. Therefore, it is necessary to know which urgent tasks need to be completed at that time. So that we can know where to put our energy and be able to finish it in a neat order. In short, prioritize the tasks that are really important to keep ourselves focused. In addition, we also need to identify when we are more productive, so that we can use that time to complete important tasks.
Set Deadline
When we have a lot of tasks to do, we can set realistic deadlines for each job and stick to them. Make a deadline a few days before the task is due so that it can be completed properly. After setting a deadline, you can write it down on sticky notes and put it in a part of the workplace that you see often so that you can remember it easily. Having a deadline can also be a challenge to complete, and you can reward yourself for it.
Having good time management certainly requires a process and practice. We must learn to save time by prioritizing what is important and getting as much work done as possible. Therefore, it takes perseverance to learn to manage time well. Hopefully some of the ways above can help to manage the time you have. Good luck!
