THE 2020 ASIAN ENGLISH OLYMPICS

English is a foreign language that must be learned by all members of the wider community. Starting with young children, even elders are now beginning to learn English. No wonder that’s why English has become a universal language around the world.

Bina Nusantara English Club (BNEC), which is the BINUS UNIVERSITY Student Activity Unit (UKM), held The 2020 Asian English Olympics for the ninth time. The event was held from Tuesday, February 11, to Saturday, February 15, 2020, and opened with the remarks from the Manager of the Student Club & Activity Center (SCAC), Mr. Irvan Santoso, S.Kom, M.TI, followed by The 2020 Asian English Olympics Project Manager, Mr. Fendy.

The opening ceremony of The 2020 Asian English Olympics was held in the Auditorium 4th Floor – Anggrek Campus, BINUS UNIVERSITY. The event was attended by 384 participants from 75 National Institutions and 14 International Institutions. The 2020 Asian English Olympics are divided into several categories that can be followed by each of these institutions, including Storytelling, Scrabble, Spelling Bee, Speech, Newscasting, Debate, Radio Drama (Online Competition), and Short Story Writing (Online Competition).
