BNEC New Member Recruitment 2018

Every spring brings new flowers, every summer brings new sunshine, every autumn brings new golden leaves, every winter brings new snowmen, and every year brings new wonderful freshmen.

Welcoming freshmen is one of BNEC’s annual activity. New Member Recruitment (NMR) is BNEC’s program to give the warmest welcome to freshmen, starting from Bunga Rampai, EXPO, until the Welcome Party. Bunga Rampai is the moment for BNEC to show the freshmen what BNEC is attractively. This year, we used the theme Jumanji in our Bunga Rampai, with the goal to show that by joining student organizations, they will be able to expand their knowledge and experience.

EXPO is BINUS’ event for all student organizations to promote the organization and attract new members. BNEC also opened a booth to attract the freshmen to become new members. What made it special was the lucky draw, where freshmen can receive gifts from BNEC by following BNEC’s Instagram and give some love to the posts. Hundreds of freshmen were lining and crowding at BNEC’s booth and each of them received goodie bag containing a clear folder, small notes, and piles of vouchers.

As the only English based student organization in BINUS University, BNEC with Cornell Language Center partner up and holds TOEFL test every year. The participants are not just from the freshmen, but also other BINUSIAN who need TOEFL Score.

The last event of the program is the Welcome Party. In this event, all the new members will gather together and get to know each other. During the Welcome Party, we had a mini-seminar brought by BNEC’s amazing alumni and various games to help them bond and have fun. By holding the Welcome Party, BNEC hopes that the members can be a good company to each other for the whole year ahead.
