BNEC x Ruang Guru 2025 IELTS Workshop

In response to the increasing demand for English proficiency in global education and professional fields, BINUS English Club (BNEC) has partnered with Ruang Guru to organize the BNEC x Ruang Guru IELTS Workshop 2025. This collaborative initiative is designed to provide students with structured IELTS preparation through four expert-led sessions held over the course of four consecutive weeks. Each session focuses on one of the four key IELTS components which include Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, and then followed by an oral placement test to assess the participants’ progress. The workshop is conducted at BINUS Kemanggisan Campus and is attended by 12 dedicated participants, both from within and outside BNEC, who are eager to improve their English proficiency and achieve higher scores in the IELTS exam.

The sessions are led by Agnesius Susanto, a certified English educator currently teaching at English Academy by Ruang Guru. With a strong background in teaching IELTS and Business English across various institutions such as Golden English, INGGO, and ESQ Course, Agnesius brings both depth and practical insights to the learning experience. Holding a C2 EFSET Certificate and a 7.5 band score in IELTS, his teaching is enriched by years of experience in corporate and youth training programs, including contributions to Grab Indonesia and Indonesia Business Links. The event follows a detailed flow starting with preparation and ticket entry, followed by a profile video from BNEC and Ruang Guru, and an official introduction. The core of the session consists of a material presentation with an interactive Q&A, continued with an oral test to simulate actual IELTS speaking conditions. To ensure a smooth flow, buffer times are provided between segments. The workshop concludes with a documentation session and closing remarks.

Through this workshop, BNEC also aims to assess Ruang Guru’s potential as a strategic partner in launching a dedicated IELTS learning stream, offering a modern alternative to the increasingly outdated TOEFL approach. This marks an important step in BNEC’s mission to broaden academic opportunities and raise awareness about the importance of IELTS among Binusians.
