BINUS University Empowers Students Through 2025 English Learning Forum: Enhancing Professional Communication for Global Careers
Jakarta, Indonesia – BINUS University proudly presents the 2025 English Learning Forum (ELF), an educational seminar designed to support the personal and professional development of students by equipping them with advanced English communication skills tailored for the global workplace. This initiative aligns with the BINUS Graduate Attributes (BGA), particularly in strengthening the Global Standard Technical Competencies (GSTC), enabling students to complete academic programs with integrity and meet international standards within their respective fields.
Carrying the theme “Mastering English Fluency to Thrive Across Job Interviews,” the 2025 ELF responds to the increasing demand for English proficiency in the professional world. In today’s global job market, proficiency in English has transitioned from being an advantage to a requirement. Particularly within national and multinational companies, the ability to articulate ideas clearly, persuasively, and professionally in English is highly sought after. A report by Cambridge English, surveying 5,373 employers across 38 countries, found that over 95% of employers in non-native English-speaking countries consider English language skills important for their business operations. Moreover, 98.5% of these employers have at least one method to assess English language competency during recruitment, underscoring its significance in the hiring process.
Through this seminar, students will be encouraged to deepen their understanding of cross-cultural communication in professional interview settings, thus reinforcing their GSTC achievements. Moreover, the ELF 2025 contributes to the development of Applied Management Skills (AMS) by teaching participants how to manage communication in a structured and systematic manner, enabling them to present themselves confidently and effectively during formal engagements such as interviews and presentations.
Beyond technical competencies, the ELF 2025 also focuses on nurturing Adaptability, a key attribute in today’s fast-changing, global work environments. Students will be empowered to adapt swiftly to new and uncertain situations, collaborate within diverse teams, and build strong interpersonal relationships. Through interactive sessions led by distinguished professionals, participants will gain valuable insights on navigating uncertainties during the recruitment process and adjusting effectively to multicultural and competitive environments.
The 2025 English Learning Forum is not only a platform for learning but also a strategic step in preparing BINUSIANs to thrive and lead in a globally connected workforce.
