Cadre Forming
Every year, as our predecessor left to continue their journey towards their desired yet unpredictable future, they put their trust to the new generation of BNEC Board of Management to continue their legacy.
Are you familiar with the words “Cadre”? Based on our little observation, the name doesn’t seem to ring any or anything to most people. It is a foreign name for what people used to acknowledge as Leadership Preparation (or LDKS). In BNEC, our leadership preparation is just slightly different from other organizations in Binus, taking a little extraordinary activity concept to teach our new leaders in an event called “Cadre Forming.”
Deriving from its original meaning, “cadre” means a small group of people specially trained for a particular purpose or profession. Cadre Forming in BNEC is a basic training of leadership, as well a learning platform for our new activists. They will be trained and prepared to maintain the presidency with the guidance of the senior Board of Management. After two years during the pandemic, the cadre forming was conducted online for two years. Thankfully this year we conducted the cadre forming for three days on March 17-19 using a hybrid method.
The cadre formation took place online on the first and second days (March 17–18). The new activist received seminars on these two days that provided insights for working in the presidency. They were also asked to participate in a project event where they could begin understanding how to prepare and manage an event in the presidency later. The cadre forming took place offline at Wisma Pangestu Sukabumi on the final day, March 19. The new activists had to complete their project event from the previous day on this day, and we also had some bonding activities like playing games. Finally, to wrap up the cadre forming, there was a Path to Inauguration for the new activists.
With this year’s cadre forming theme “Exceed Your Capability, Reach the Extraordinary,” we hope that through participating in this cadre forming, our new activists will always be able to explore their capacity to achieve outcomes.
