From Campus To Career: A Journey into the IT World
On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the Informatics Engineering Student Association (HIMTI) BINUS @Bandung held a collaborative event with the BINUS English Club. This event featured speakers from Binus Bandung students who work at Apple Academy, including Joshua Wenata Sunarto, a Software Development Engineer at The Software Practice Pte. Ltd. The event was held at BINUS@Bandung Paskal Hyper Square, Jl. Pasir Kaliki No.25-27, Ciroyom, Kec. Andir, Bandung City, West Java 40181, 9th floor. This event started at 12:20 PM.
The objectives of the activity “From Campus To Career: A Journey into the IT World 2025” are as follows:
- Providing inspiration and motivation to students about career paths in the IT world from the perspective of successful alumni.
- Sharing real experiences regarding the challenges and opportunities faced in the world of work after graduating from college.
- Providing practical tips on self-development, time management, learning the latest technology, and building a career while in college.
- Cultivating the spirit of learning and exploring the IT field from an early age among students.
- Building connections between students and alumni, thus creating a network that is beneficial for career and self-development.
- Providing a real picture of the world of work in the IT field, including the skills needed and the mindset that must be possessed.
- Encourage students to have clear and focused career planning during their education.
In closing, the event “From Campus To Career: A Journey into the IT World 2025” organized by the Informatics Engineering Student Association (HIMTI) BINUS @Bandung in collaboration with the BINUS English Club became a very useful forum for students to gain insight and prepare themselves to face the world of work, especially in the field of Information Technology. The presence of Joshua Wenata Sunarto as a speaker and Software Development Engineer at The Software Practice Pte. Ltd. provided a real and inspiring perspective on how a career journey in the IT world can start from college, to breaking through the challenges of a competitive professional world.
Through various materials shared, including personal experiences, challenges in the workplace, and tips on self-development and time management, participants gained a clear understanding of the steps that can be taken to build a career early on. Not only that, this event also fostered a spirit of exploration and curiosity among students, and encouraged the importance of having a growth mindset and mature career planning during their studies.
More than just a knowledge-sharing session, this activity also serves as a forum for building connections and networks between students and alumni, which are expected to continue to develop into a solid and mutually supportive professional community. With a warm, interactive, and enthusiastic atmosphere, this event has succeeded in creating a positive momentum that will have a long-term influence on students’ academic and professional journeys.
