The 32nd BNEC Cadre Forming: An Extraordinary Gateway to Extraordinary Leadership
BINUS English Club (BNEC) successfully held its 32nd Cadre Forming on February 22-23, 2025. The two-day event took place at BINUS Alam Sutera on the first day and continued at BINUS Syahdan on the second day. This year’s Cadre Forming introduced a new reconception in its Project Event Making session, which now consists of six structured phases aimed at enhancing leadership and event management skills among the new Board of Management (BoM) members.
The Project Event Making Reconception was designed to guide participants through six essential phases: Concepting, Job Delegation, Timeline Structuring, Design and Marketing Concept, Proposal Period, and Finalization. These phases offered hands-on experience in event planning, ensuring continuous learning through structured feedback and revision sessions.
In the Concepting phase, groups developed foundational event concepts based on a given case study. Participants determined the event’s background, objectives, theme, innovations, and target participants. This phase involved idea generation, refinement, and multiple rounds of critical feedback from experienced Regional Presidents and Chief Officers.
The second phase, Job Delegation, focused on assigning team roles within the group. Leaders (Project Officers and Vice Project Officers) allocated responsibilities to team members across key divisions, such as Event, Logistics, and Marketing. This phase helped participants practice strategic decision-making and effective leadership, with a feedback session to refine their delegation strategies.
The third phase, Timeline Structuring, required participants to create a three-month preparation plan leading up to their event. They set an estimated event date and mapped out the necessary steps for execution. This phase emphasized strategic planning and feasibility, followed by structured critiques to improve the proposed timelines.
In the Design and Marketing Concept phase, groups planned their event branding and promotional strategies. They selected a design theme, color palette, and marketing platforms while structuring a timeline for outreach. The session included a critique round to ensure well-developed and practical marketing strategies.
The Proposal Period allowed participants to consolidate their event plans into a structured proposal, following real-world event planning formats. The proposals were reviewed by the BNEC General Secretary and Treasurer, who provided feedback to enhance clarity and organization before final revisions.
Finally, the Finalization phase involved preparing a presentation summarizing the event plans. Groups refined their blueprint and integrated feedback before presenting their projects to the Steering Committee and the Group PICs. This session included both final preparation time and a presentation round where participants showcased their work.
Beyond these structured sessions, the 32nd Cadre Forming also featured an engaging activity to build teamwork and camaraderie. A highlight was the Treasure Hunt game, held after the Concepting phase. This interactive activity encouraged problem-solving and strengthened team dynamics in a fun and immersive way.
The event concluded with the inauguration of the new Board of Management, marking the official transition of leadership in BNEC. This significant moment celebrated the dedication and efforts of the participants throughout the intensive training process. Additionally, there was an introduction session for the Steering Committee and Managing Committee, allowing new BoMs to familiarize themselves with key figures and leadership structures within BNEC.
Overall, the 32nd Cadre Forming was a resounding success, equipping new BoM members with essential leadership, event management, and teamwork skills. By incorporating a structured six-phase Project Event Making reconception, BNEC continues to uphold its commitment to nurturing future leaders and fostering a culture of excellence in event organization. With this comprehensive training, the new Board of Management is well-prepared to lead BNEC to greater achievements in the coming term.
