THE IMPORTANCE OF ORGANIZATION
According to Political Science Professor, Keith Davis, organizations can be defined as “a group of individuals large or small there cooperating under the direction of executive leadership to accomplish a certain common objective.” In conclusion, we can say that organizations are created to achieve common goals through interpersonal ties, which means organizations are a form of human association for attaining common objectives.
There are some types of organizations, such as corporations, governments, non government organizations, nonprofit organizations, etc. A corporation is a firm or group of people with the legal authority to act as a single entity (legally a person). Government organizations are organizations that the government funds, so they have a direct relationship with the government. Meanwhile, the nongovernment organizations operate independently from any government even though they may receive funds from the government. Then, nonprofit organizations are organizations that are not for profit and do not share any of their profits with their members, directors, or executives.
So, why is organization important, and why should we be a part of it? The four arguments for the importance of an organization are as follows.
- A tool for reaching goals. The organization always has something they want to achieve, such as goals or resolutions. So, to achieve those goals, people involved will work together because it will help to define where the team wants to be and help to keep the progress on track. Also, working together is more efficient!
- Teach us to adapt in every situation. Being a member of an organization helps people in adapting to changes. It is because an organization has a structure and system that must be followed by its members. Also, an organization must have numerous people with different backgrounds and characteristics involved in it. Thus, the situation will always be dynamic and require us to adapt.
- Boost our creativity and critical thinking. Organization can be the source of creative thinking or the launch of new ideas. Because in an organization, we must create an innovative idea so the organization can be set apart from the others. In addition, critical thinking is beneficial in all aspects of an organization. Communication, creativity, and problem-solving are all enhanced by these abilities. Being actively involved in an organization will hone your critical thinking to connect ideas, analyze arguments, identify flaws, and solve complicated problems in the business so that your thinking will be sharper.
- Encourage us to grow. Organizations that grow use their resources maximally, including the organization’s members. A good organizational structure guarantees that the right people are in the correct position to support the improvement of its members.
Organizations may provide a lot of beneficial value. Participating in a collaborative project in an organization will enrich your experience, whether you join as a member or leader. Using an organization to gain skills, make connections, and enhance your knowledge will help you become a more well-rounded individual. So are you interested in joining an organization?
