FAILURE: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE
Many people often feared failure due to many reasons. Some of the reasons are because they think it will affect their future, it will be hard to face the disappointment of the people, and it will give them the essential ambiance of shame. But what not many people realize is that failure is a fundamental key and one of the processes to success.
You cannot achieve success without ever experiencing failure. It teaches you very valuable things about life, such as how to stay on your feet and not give up easily. It can make you appreciate little things in life and gives you growth, experience, along with knowledge.
To overcome this, you need to accept it and move on. Admitting defeat can also shape your mentality to become stronger and get used to failure. Thus, preparing yourself for your upcoming challenges. Not only that, but the sadness, desperation, and frustration will certainly change your perspective on life and give you self-development.
There are plenty of public figures who experience massive downfall before they become what they are today. The most known among all of them is Jack Ma.
“Failure is a blessing in disguise” is the perfect terminology for the relationship between Jack Ma and failure. The amount of failure this man has faced is nothing to be underestimated. Jack Ma failed his primary school exams not once, but twice during his childhood. During his Middle School exams, he failed three times. Even before enrolling at Hangzhou Normal University, Jack Ma failed the admission examinations three times. Jack Ma failed to find work after completing his bachelor’s degree in a variety of places and was unable to find work despite applying 30 times.
In one of his interviews he stated that when he applied in KFC, there were 24 people who went for the job and 23 people were accepted so he was the only one who did not get accepted. When asked about his rejections, in one of his interviews, he said that he already got used to turning rejection into an opportunity, to learn and grow by overcoming the anguish of rejection itself. Jack Ma never gave up and he was never afraid to learn new things. He has practiced failures so many times that he is no longer concerned with them. Staying optimistic is also his way to overcome his failure.
We can learn from Jack Ma’s struggles that failure is nothing to be ashamed of. We are all humans, none of us are perfect. Everyone fails at some point and that’s alright. Failure makes us stronger and more independent than before. Sooner or later, we will achieve the success we always dreamed of as long as we don’t stop and keep moving forward because in every struggle and journey, there’s a reward waiting for us.
