Hello, IMMERS! Have you ever wondered how you can show your strengths, make a good first impression, and build a professional image that represents who you really are? In today’s professional environment, knowing how to present yourself and communicate your value can make a meaningful difference. That is what IMMERVATE is all about. IMMERVATE is a program organized by the International Marketing Community of BINUS
(IMCB) that focuses on helping participants understand and develop their personal branding through an interactive and engaging experience.
Carrying the theme “Main Character Energy: Konstruksi Persona Professional,” IMMERVATE focuses on the process of building a professional persona by recognizing personal strengths, values, and unique qualities. The event was held on September 18, 2026, at BINUS University Alam Sutera. Rather than being a session where participants only listened to the speaker, IMMERVATE was designed to encourage participants to actively engage, share their thoughts, and apply what they learned throughout the event.
The event started with an Entry Ticket session, followed by the official opening and prayer. Participants then received welcome speeches from the representatives of IMCB before moving into an ice-breaking session. The ice breaker helped create a more comfortable atmosphere and allowed participants to interact with one another before moving into the main session. Before the main material began, participants completed a pre-test. This
activity gave participants an opportunity to reflect on their initial understanding of personal branding and professional identity. The event then continued with the main session, “It’s Time to Build Your Professional Persona,” presented by Asilanisa Wijayanti. During the main session, participants were introduced to the importance of understanding their own identity and recognizing the qualities that can shape their professional persona. Building a professional persona is not simply about trying to create a certain image. It also involves understanding what makes each individual unique and learning how to communicate those qualities in a professional setting.
The session was followed by a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topics that had been presented. This allowed participants to connect the material with their own experiences and gain a better understanding of how personal branding can be applied in real-life situations. After the main session, IMMERVATE continued with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Participants were divided into several groups and took part in an activity called “Sell Yourself.” The activity encouraged each participant to identify one of their strongest abilities. After that, the group discussed the value behind each ability and created a slogan that represented the participant’s personal branding. The “Sell Yourself” activity was designed to help participants recognize their unique value while also learning to appreciate the strengths of others. Instead of
simply saying what they were good at, participants were encouraged to think about the value behind their abilities and how those strengths could be presented to others. The activity also gave participants the opportunity to practice communication and teamwork.
Once the discussion was completed, each group presented the results of their FGD. Through these presentations, participants had the chance to express their ideas and practice communicating their personal branding concepts in front of others. The activity also created an opportunity for participants to learn from the different ideas and perspectives shared by each group. The event then continued with a post-test, followed by the announcement of the winning group. After that, participants completed an exit ticket and took part in a reflection session. The reflection provided participants with an opportunity to look back on their experience and think about the lessons they could take from IMMERVATE. IMMERVATE was not only focused on delivering knowledge about personal branding but also on giving participants the chance to practice what they had learned. From identifying their strengths and discussing their unique value to creating personal branding slogans and presenting their ideas, participants were actively involved throughout the event.Through its combination of learning, discussion, games, presentations, and reflection, IMMERVATE created an environment where participants could explore their own potential in a more engaging way. The activities encouraged participants to become more confident in recognizing and communicating their strengths, which can be useful as they prepare for future academic and professional experiences.
Ultimately, IMMERVATE reminded participants that building a professional persona starts with understanding yourself. Knowing your strengths, recognizing your unique value, and learning how to communicate them are important steps in developing a personal brand that feels authentic and professional. With the experience gained from IMMERVATE, participants were encouraged to continue developing their personal branding and bring their own strengths into their future journey. Because building your professional persona is not about becoming someone else, but about understanding what makes you unique and learning how to show it. So, are you ready to recognize your unique value and build your professional persona? It’s time to build your professional persona with IMMERVATE!
