On September 18th, 2026, IMCB held a welcoming party at Binus Syahdan Under the theme
‘A Journey Through The Waves’. Participants faced a simulated sinking ship scenario, forcing them to work
together to save the vessel. The main objectives were to improve teamwork, build bonding, and
encourage critical thinking. This event brought together 101 new students from the Class of
2029 and Class of 2030, representing both the Kemanggisan and Alam Sutera regions. The
goal was to welcome new students, help them meet new friends, and give them a clear picture
of what IMCB is all about through fun and interesting activities.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere inside the venue was filled with high enthusiasm and
curiosity from participants. The event started with an opening session and welcome remarks.
After that, Sharren and Ferick, the regional presidents of Alam Sutera and Kemanggisan, set a
positive and engaging tone for everyone in attendance. They went on stage to explain IMCB’s
goals, vision, and upcoming programs. They also shared how students can join, learn new
skills, and make great connections within the organization. Their presentation provided a
comprehensive overview, inspiring the freshmen to step out of their comfort zones and actively
participate in campus life.
The event continued with a special sharing session from an alumnus, Nathan Ardany Tanara.
He is the former president of IMCB Alam Sutera 2025 and currently works as a marketing
communications intern at PT Astra Graphia Information Technology. Nathan shared his own
story and experiences while he was in IMCB. He talked about how to be a good leader and how
important it is to work well together as a team. His story really inspired the participants and
made them excited to work together in IMCB. Nathan also reminded everyone that teams and
organizations are never completely perfect, there will always be challenges and obstacles along
the way, but they must be faced together as a team.
After the talk, everyone joined some fun group games that quickly filled the room with laughter,
cheers, and genuine teamwork. Working side-by-side through every challenge, newcomers and
committee members alike formed easy, meaningful bonds across different classes and regions.
The energy only grew with an impromptu group karaoke session, where everyone joined in to
sing their hearts out. During this karaoke session, it was clear that everyone had blended
together even more after the games. Here, we sang along together and played song-guessing
games, making the atmosphere even more lively, wrapping up the day in a joyful, unforgettable
atmosphere.
As the sun began to set, the event smoothly transitioned toward its final segment. At the end of
the event, everyone gathered for a quick wrap-up before the students from Alam Sutera headed
back home. This welcoming party was a great first step for the new students, inspiring them to
join IMCB and start their journey together, while leaving them with wonderful memories to
cherish throughout their academic years. This unforgettable moment truly marked the beginning
of a wonderful journey together.
