IMPACT 2026: Introducing Marketing to the Next Generation at Kristen Yusuf Senior High School

International Marketing Community of BINUS (IMCB) Kemanggisan, through its Community Service Program (PKM), organized IMPACT 2026 at Kristen Yusuf Senior High School. IMPACT is one of IMCB Kemanggisan’s programs in the social and educational field, designed to introduce marketing knowledge to the younger generation through an interactive and practical learning experience. The program aims to help students understand basic marketing concepts and recognize how marketing is applied in everyday life and the business world.

The name IMPACT reflects the program’s goal of creating a positive impact through education and knowledge-sharing. For the committee, IMPACT provided an opportunity to develop communication, teamwork, and presentation skills while contributing to the community. For the students, the program was expected to provide new knowledge and perspectives that could be applied in their daily lives. Meanwhile, for IMCB, IMPACT served as a form of social contribution while strengthening its role in education and knowledge-sharing.

IMPACT 2026 was held at Kristen Yusuf Senior High School over five sessions. The first three sessions were conducted on August 7, 14, and 21, 2026, with Grade 11 students participating throughout these sessions. Grade 12 students joined the program starting from the third session on August 21, followed by sessions on August 26 and September 2, 2026. The five-session format allowed the learning process to be carried out through various stages and activities.

Throughout the program, learning was not limited to one-way presentations. The IMCB Kemanggisan team delivered marketing-related materials complemented by case studies, discussions, and interactive activities. These activities encouraged students to think critically, express their opinions, and connect marketing concepts with situations they encounter in everyday life, such as brands, advertisements, social media, and promotions.

To evaluate the students’ understanding, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted as part of the learning process. The pre-test was given before the materials were delivered to measure the students’ initial knowledge, while the post-test was conducted after the materials and case studies to assess their understanding. The evaluation results showed an increase in the students’ average scores from the pre-test to the post-test, indicating that their understanding of marketing improved after participating in the learning sessions.

In addition to the evaluation results, the students showed positive responses throughout the program. They were enthusiastic, actively asked questions, and participated in discussions and activities. Their involvement created a more interactive learning environment and gavethem opportunities to express their thoughts and perspectives regarding the marketing topics presented.

One of the main strengths of IMPACT 2026 was its interactive and practical learning approach. The combination of materials, case studies, discussions, and activities allowed students to connect marketing concepts with real-life situations. However, the program also had areas that could be improved. Differences in students’ levels of understanding and participation became one of the challenges during the sessions. In addition, limited time meant that some materials and activities could not be explored in greater depth.

Moving forward, the experience from IMPACT 2026 is expected to serve as an evaluation for IMCB Kemanggisan’s future PKM programs. Future programs are expected to include more interactive activities, provide more time for discussions and case studies, and adjust the materials according to the participants’ level of understanding. IMCB also hopes to expand its PKM initiatives so that more students can gain valuable knowledge and learning experience
