The International Marketing Community of Binus (IMCB) once again took part in BINUS EXPO, the university’s annual event to welcome and introduce student organizations to incoming new students. This year, IMCB participated in two batches: Batch 1, held on 31 July-1 August at GOR BINUS Alam Sutera, and Batch 2, held on 14-15 August at the Lobby Atrium of BINUS Alam Sutera.
What many might not realize is that the preparation for this year’s EXPO didn’t just start a few weeks before the event, it began nearly two months in advance, starting from the process of conceptualizing the theme itself. After going through several rounds of brainstorming, the team ultimately chose ‘IMCB Wonderland’ as this year’s central theme, with the slogan:
“IMCB Wonderland: Where Ideas Come to Life. Nothing is Random. Everything is Designed.”

The Wonderland concept was chosen to represent the world of marketing itself, a space that looks magical, colorful, and unpredictable on the surface but is in fact built entirely on intention. Nothing in this “wonderland” happens by accident: every visual, every interaction, and every experience is deliberately designed to influence how people perceive and engage with it. At the same time, this Wonderland isn’t meant to be intimidating; instead, it is meant to be a space for exploration, experimentation, and for visitors to create their own meaning from the experience. Behind this theme, IMCB’s Event, Design, and Logistic divisions worked closely together, with each division led by its respective coordinator, to make sure the entire preparation process ran smoothly and stayed coordinated from the very first planning meeting all the way through to the final day of EXPO.
At the booth, the IMCB members introduced freshmen to the organization, including its programs and activities, divisions and their responsibilities, as well as the benefits of joining IMCB. To keep the whole experience engaging and fun, there were also games, such as “Potion of Secrets,” where the freshmen randomly picked a question slip from a jar containing 25 questions about IMCB. If they succeeded in answering the question, the freshmen would spin the spinwheel to get a prize. Another game featured at the booth was “Find the Red Queen,” where participants were given a shuffled deck of playing cards and had to randomly draw three cards in a single attempt. Freshman won the game if at least two of the three cards they drew were red, after which they also had the chance to spin the wheel and win a prize.
The booth was filled with an energetic and lively atmosphere throughout the EXPO, with freshmen actively participating in the games and interacting with IMCB members. Freshmen who completed the feedback form received a stamp and a bonus pack consisting of a sticker and candy. Meanwhile, those who registered to join IMCB received a welcoming party card, keychain, sticker, and candy.

During the EXPO, some IMCB members participated in the parade to energize the event and promote IMCB to freshmen. Moreover, one of the highlights was IMCB’s performance at the atrium as a part of the event’s activities. The performance was delivered by several IMCB members, whose chant brought a lively atmosphere to the atrium and gave freshmen a chance to experience IMCB’s enthusiasm and energy beyond the booth.
