Nusantara Junction: Flavor in Every Connection

Marking a new chapter of togetherness and collaboration, the Business Management Student Association (HIMME) of Binus University proudly presented DEMEET 2026, an internal bonding event designed to bring members across departments closer in a warm and meaningful atmosphere. Carried under the theme “Nusantara Junction: Flavor in Every Connection”, this year’s event highlighted the richness of Indonesian culinary culture. Through this event, HIMME aimed to create a welcoming space where senior members and new activists could strengthen their connections.

Carrying the theme “Nusantara Junction”, each department was challenged to present an Indonesian menu consisting of an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The systematic division of tasks encouraged participants to develop teamwork, creativity, and communication skills to achieve the best results. Through this concept, participants not only explored the richness of Indonesian culinary flavors, but also strengthened the sense of unity and responsibility within their team.

The event began with participant registration and an opening prayer, followed by the singing of Indonesia Raya, welcoming remarks, and a briefing on the competition rules before entering the cooking session. Each team was given 110 minutes to prepare their chosen dishes. After the cooking session ended, every team presented the philosophy behind their dishes in front of the judges, who evaluated the dishes based on taste and presentation.

At the end of the event, the winners of the culinary challenge were announced and appreciated for their creativity, teamwork, and presentation. The excitement and cheerful atmosphere during the award session became a memorable moment for all participants. More than just a competition, DEMEET 2026 carried a meaningful message about the importance of connection, collaboration, and unity within HIMME. Through the experience of working together and celebrating Indonesia’s diverse culinary heritage, participants were able to build stronger relationships, create unforgettable memories, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness that will continue to grow within the organization.
