Saturday, 30 May 2026, was a bright and sunny day as BNEC Bandung held its first Social Event at House of New Hope, Lembang. Through this event, our volunteers had the opportunity to teach English to children with enthusiasm, patience, and joy.

The halls and classrooms were filled with laughter and cheer as our smart and dedicated volunteers guided the children of House of New Hope. The atmosphere was full of excitement, with no room for boredom, as the children eagerly learned together with our volunteers through fun and interactive games that helped reinforce the materials they had learned.

The children, ranging from elementary school to first grade of middle school, were energetic and enthusiastic, matching the spirit of our volunteers. Meanwhile, the students from second grade of middle school to senior high school were just as eager to participate. Together, we learned the English names of common objects in our daily lives, along with their colors, shapes, expressions, and more. After the learning session, the children played exciting games, from I Spy to Scrambled Words.

Of course, with games came prizes, and the children definitely earned them. We gave out school supplies as rewards, along with one special prize for the bravest participant, a doll from Miniso.

This event served as a meaningful reminder that one of the best ways to teach children is by making the learning process fun, engaging, and encouraging. Rather than simply delivering materials through explanation, positive reinforcement and interactive activities can help children enjoy learning even more. 

This day marked an important milestone for BNEC Bandung, as it was our first Social Event. Hopefully, it will become the beginning of many more events that not only provide valuable experiences for our members but also bring positive impact to the community.
