Stepping foot in a university campus marks the beginning of an exciting journey for all new graduates. Beyond a shift in academic challenges, this brand new chapter of life brings about countless opportunities for newcomers to discover themselves, reach higher milestones, and forge new lifelong friendships. It represents an exciting new freedom, to break free from the rigorous routines of the past and step into the unknown. With all the countless opportunities and challenges presenting themselves, BINUS University offers a guide for first year students to explore their endless pathways together with their fellow freshmen.
From July 20 to August 15, new students were welcomed through the NEXT program, containing activities to introduce and familiarize them to campus life. Rather than adhering to strict rules and rigid introductions, NEXT embraces the fun and joy of collaboration. Student organizations from all around BINUS set up booths filled with unique activities to attract potential new members, transforming the campus into a vibrant, lively palace. Incoming freshmen were able to discover various organizations, interact with senior students, and play fun minigames. This program gave opportunities for new students to connect with kindred spirits, explore new passions, and finally find organizations which connect with them.
Standing amongst this radiant sea of organizations, BNEC shines its own light through its New Member Recruitment (NMR) activities. BNEC prepared an eye-catching booth filled with decorations, fun and interactive activities, as well as a cute roaming mascot to boot. Our committee members welcomed freshmen with open arms, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. While participating in the interactive games such as “spin the wheel”, not only could freshmen win exciting prizes, they could also continue to learn more about BNEC itself.These activities provided a memorable first impression to freshmen while also welcoming them to implore further and ask questions about BNEC. This will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of the organization beyond what was presented.
In 2026, BNEC carried the banner of “Chase the Wonder, Conquer the Extraordinary” during this event. This theme represents curiosity, courage, and growth. “Chase the Wonder” symbolizes our drive to test unknown waters, step outside our comfort zones, and embrace all unforeseen circumstances. Joining BNEC is an opportunity to step beyond what you already know and explore possibilities never considered before. “Conquer the Extraordinary” showcases our priority in challenging ourselves to develop our skills and accomplish things once deemed impossible. This tagline invites new members to explore and embrace new opportunities in order to grow into the best versions of themselves.
Through this, it encourages freshmen to see BNEC as a place where they can develop themselves and portrays joining BNEC as the beginning of an unforgettable journey filled with exciting experiences. BNEC allows students to gain these experiences through classes, events, and other programs. We hope for our new members to discover themselves, enhance their skills, become capable leaders, and continue to inspire others in the future.
