NATIONAL ENGLISH OLYMPICS

        The National English Olympics (NEO) is a competition event that Bina Nusantara English Club (BNEC) conducts every year to facilitate those who are interested in national-scale English competitions. Every year, the event itself has a different theme to spice things up and for this year, “Luminescence” was the main theme that was picked. The reasoning behind this theme is to show that even though we as a society are going through a pandemic right now, we should always remain motivated to be the light during these dark times.

        This year, the competition was held from the 15th to the 20th of November 2021, bringing various English competitions such as Short Story Writing, Speech, Podcast, Newscasting, and Debate. Participants in each competition will be competing through several rounds before moving to the final round. Even though the competition was held online due to the current pandemic, the event went smoothly and lively with many competitors from different backgrounds. The final rounds for every competition branch were quite fierce as every participant was trying to go for number one. For those who are looking for merchandise, the committees were selling NEO-themed clothes and accessories throughout the event.
