Cancel-Culture
For those of you who like watching Korean drama, it is certainly not unfamiliar with the case experienced by one of the South Korean actors recently. That is the case of actor Kim Seon Ho’s personal problems scandal which was revealed because it was reported that he had forced his partner to have an abortion and caused Kim Seon Ho to have to accept the consequences. One of the consequences is the social law of Cancel-Culture. Cancel-Culture is an expression that can be interpreted as a boycott or ex-communication due to a case or scandal that usually occurs in public figures or important people who have a major role in society. Forms of Cancel-Culture can vary, such as losing various employment contracts, bullying on social media, reduction of scenes in a drama, the film being difficult to screen, and losing fans. The consequence felt by the public figure is that they have to accept his career is ruined and can not even continue his career because he has been boycotted or rejected by the public because of cases or scandals circulating about him either now or in the past. Cancel-Culture has a very bad impact on the public, especially if the news is not true but they have already been rejected by the public.
