#Productive101: How to Set Your Priorities Straight
Being students, we can find ourselves occasionally stressing too much over our tasks, feel overwhelmed with the workload we have, feel like our lives are unorganized, and even find ourselves missing deadlines and feeling burned out. These feelings can come to us at any time and you must remember that they are valid, but still, we must know how to combat these negativities for us to stay on track and achieve our goals. If you’re reading this, you’re in luck, because we’ve got some tips for you to overcome these obstacles!
List down the tasks that you need to accomplish within the day
You can do this by going through what you have to do, one by one, and listing them down. Make sure you are thorough so you don’t miss out on any task or assignment.
Identify which task or objective is more urgent
Once you’ve listed down the things you need to accomplish, you can start identifying which tasks are more urgent. You can do this by determining which tasks require more time to do or which task’s deadline is coming up sooner than the others.
Eliminate distractions that prevents you from achieving your set goals
Put your phone away!
You can also finish minor tasks before you completely focus on the task you’ve prioritized to finish, like tidying up your room, for example.
Determine How You Want to Live Your Life and Take Time to Relax
Once you do feel like you need a break, you probably do. Stop your activity for a while, take a breath deeply and relax. After taking some time to relax, now determine how you want your life to be going. Reset the plan if it’s needed and possible.
“It’s important to have your priorities straight so you’re living a life of purpose and fulfillment that feels good for you.
When you have your priorities straight and know what’s important to you, you’re more in line with your intentions and what you really want out of life.”
