Youth Today merupakan suatu acara yang diselenggarakan oleh AIESEC in BINUS dengan tujuan mewadahi perkembangan para pemuda di Indonesia, khususnya BINUSIAN, untuk senantiasa mengembangkan diri secara personal maupun profesional lewat praktik-praktik kepemimpinan yang sejalan dengan minat dan kebutuhan internal maupun eksternal. Seiring berjalannya waktu, globalisasi merupakan kejadian yang lumrah terjadi di kehidupan saat ini. Interkoneksi yang meningkat menimbulkan banyak perubahan di setiap lini kehidupan, bertambahnya kesempatan untuk memenuhi potensi terbaik dari setiap orang merupakan salah satu perubahannya. Kebutuhan akan keterampilan profesional membuat magang menjadi salah satu aktivitas yang digandrungi oleh mahasiswa.
Magang merupakan program resmi atau formal yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengalaman praktis bagi seseorang dalam suatu pekerjaan atau profesi. Elemen terpenting dalam aktivitas magang adalah integrasi pengetahuan dan praktek keterampilan. Magang juga memiliki manfaat tambahan, seperti rekomendasi profesional, pengalaman yang layak untuk resume, dan peluang untuk membangun koneksi. Seseorang yang telah melakukan magang memiliki kemungkinan 15% lebih kecil untuk menganggur di tahun-tahun pertama setelah kuliah dan mendapatkan 6% lebih banyak daripada mahasiswa yang tidak melakukan magang. Mengusung tema “Internship Abroad: Connect Yourself To The World and Stand-Out Among Others”, Youth Today pada tahun ini akan berkolaborasi dengan Outgoing Global Talent (oGTa) yang merupakan produk magang internasional milik AIESEC. Youth Today x oGTa bertujuan untuk menjembatani mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan mengenai kesempatan magang internasional melalui program oGTa. Magang memberikan banyak sekali manfaat bagi para mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dengan praktek langsung di situasi profesional. Melalui acara ini, kami mengharapkan para peserta, terutama BINUSIAN, bisa melebarkan sayapnya di seluruh penjuru dunia untuk mengembangkan dirinya sendiri.
Youth Today x oGTa dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 29 April 2023 mengusung tema “Internship Abroad: Connect Yourself to The World and Stand-out Among Others” dan kampanye #BorderlessYOUth disambut dengan antusias oleh para audiens. Youth Today disambut dengan antusias dan menggaet total 247 peserta dari seluruh Indonesia, baik BINUSIAN maupun publik. Acara ini dibawakan oleh dua Master of Ceremony (MC), yakni Theresia Angeline dan Raihana Kamila. Mereka membuka acara dengan menyapa para audiens dan menghidupkan suasana dengan melakukan ice-breaking juga pembacaan peraturan selama acara berlangsung. Kemudian para MC mempersilakan Jasmine Azzahra selaku Organizing Committee President Youth Today x oGTa untuk memulai acara dengan memberikan sambutan.
Acara dilanjutkan dengan sesi “Cross-Cultural Perspectives: Sharing Experiences and Insights from International Internship” yang merupakan sesi presentasi oleh Gratia Sidabutar, alumni oGTa yang pernah melakukan magang di Thailand. Sesi ini menceritakan pengalaman Gratia selama di Thailand, apa yang memotivasinya, bagaimana cara dia memaksimalkan kesempatan ini, dan mengapa setiap orang harus mendapatkan kesempatan yang sama. Setelah itu, MC memperkenalkan Rayyan Karim Bakarbessy selaku Moderator yang akan membawakan sesi selanjutnya bersama speaker. “Exploring the Value and Impact of International Internship” merupakan sesi talkshow yang bertujuan untuk memberi para audiens pemahaman yang holistik mengenai pengalaman Gratia selama menjalani magang di luar negeri dan kesulitan yang dihadapi ketika merantau. Kemudian, sesi tanya jawab dua arah antara audiens dan speaker dilakukan. Antusiasme para audiens dibuktikan dengan banyaknya pertanyaan yang dilontarkan.
Selaras dengan minat para audiens untuk mendapatkan kesempatan magang di luar negeri, para MC memulai sesi “Introduction to oGTa Product” yang menjelaskan manfaat yang didapatkan, job opportunity yang tersedia, dan bagaimana cara mendapatkan atau mendaftarkan diri ke oGTa. Kemudian, MC mengumumkan pemenang kategori “Best Question” yang dimenangkan oleh tiga peserta. Ketiga peserta ini dihadiahkan uang elektronik atau e-money sejumlah Rp25.000.
Acara Youth Today x oGTa ditutup dengan acara dokumentasi. MC kemudian melanjutkan dengan pengumuman Call to Action yang harus dilakukan oleh peserta dan dikumpulkan ke drive yang telah disediakan oleh panitia, dan mengisi exit forms dan satisfaction survey yang tersedia di layar (QR code) atau link di kolom komentar.
Secara keseluruhan, acara Youth Today x oGTa: Internship Abroad – Connect Yourself to The World and Stand-out Among Others berjalan dengan lancar, dari perencanaan hingga eksekusi acara bisa dikatakan bahwa acara ini sukses. Dalam form feedback yang diberikan, bisa ditarik kesimpulan bahwa acara ini memuaskan dari pihak audiens atau speaker. Acara ini dibuat seinteraktif mungkin sehingga para audiens bisa secara aktif mendengarkan materi dan pesan yang ingin kami sampaikan melalui acara ini. Dengan selesainya acara ini, kami percaya bahwa AIESEC in BINUS telah membuka pintu bagi para audiens untuk mengembangkan dirinya. Oleh karena itu, kami percaya bahwa AIESEC in BINUS akan senantiasa mengembangkan acaranya dengan lebih baik lagi.

Youth Today is an event organized by AIESEC in BINUS with the aim of facilitating the development of youth in Indonesia, especially BINUSIAN, to always develop themselves personally and professionally through leadership practices that are in line with internal and external interests and needs. Over time, globalization is a common occurrence in today’s life. Increased interconnection creates many changes in every area of life, increasing the opportunity to fulfill the best potential of each person is one such change. The need for professional skills makes internships one of the activities loved by students.
An internship is an official or formal program that aims to provide practical experience for someone in a job or profession. The most important element in apprenticeship activities is the integration of knowledge and skills practice. Internships also have additional benefits, such as professional recommendations, resume-worthy experience, and opportunities to build connections. Individuals who have undertaken an internship are 15% less likely to be unemployed in the first years after college and earn 6% more than students who have not undertaken an internship. Carrying the theme “Internship Abroad: Connect Yourself To The World and Stand-Out Among Others”, Youth Today this year will collaborate with Outgoing Global Talent (oGTa) which is an international internship product owned by AIESEC. Youth Today x oGTa aims to bridge students to gain knowledge about international internship opportunities through the oGTa program. Internships provide many benefits for students to improve their skills by direct practice in professional situations. Through this event, we hope that the participants, especially BINUSIAN, can spread their wings all over the world to develop themselves.
Youth Today x oGTa was held on Saturday, 29 April 2023 with the theme “Internship Abroad: Connect Yourself to The World and Stand-out Among Others” and the #BorderlessYOUth campaign was enthusiastically welcomed by the audience. Youth Today was greeted with enthusiasm and attracted a total of 247 participants from all over Indonesia, both BINUSIAN and the public. This event was hosted by two Masters of Ceremony (MC), namely Theresia Angeline and Raihana Kamila. They opened the event by greeting the audience and livened up the atmosphere by doing ice-breaking as well as reading the rules during the event. Then the MCs invited Jasmine Azzahra as the Organizing Committee President Youth Today x oGTa to start the event by giving a speech.
The event continued with the session “Cross-Cultural Perspectives: Sharing Experiences and Insights from International Internship” which was a presentation session by Gratia Sidabutar, an oGTa alumni who had done an internship in Thailand. This session tells about Gratia’s experiences while in Thailand, what motivates him, how he maximizes this opportunity, and why everyone should get the same opportunity. After that, the MC introduced Rayyan Karim Bakarbessy as the Moderator who will present the next session with the speakers. “Exploring the Value and Impact of International Internship” is a talkshow session that aims to give the audience a holistic understanding of Gratia’s experiences while undergoing internships abroad and the difficulties faced when migrating. Then, a two-way question and answer session between the audience and speakers was conducted. The enthusiasm of the audience was evidenced by the many questions raised.
In line with the audience’s interest in getting internship opportunities abroad, the MCs started an “Introduction to oGTa Product” session which explained the benefits, available job opportunities, and how to get or register with oGTa. Then, the MC announced the winner of the “Best Question” category which was won by three participants. The three participants were awarded electronic money or e-money in the amount of IDR 25,000.
The Youth Today x oGTa event was closed with a documentation event. The MC then proceeded with announcing the Call to Action which had to be carried out by the participants and submitted to the drive provided by the committee, and filling out the exit forms and satisfaction survey available on the screen (qr code) or the link in the comments column.
Overall, the Youth Today x oGTa: Internship Abroad – Connect Yourself to The World and Stand-out Among Others event ran smoothly, from planning to execution, one could say that this event was a success. In the feedback form provided, it can be concluded that this event was satisfactory from the audience or speakers. This program is made as interactive as possible so that the audience can actively listen to the material and messages we want to convey through this event. With the completion of this event, we believe that AIESEC in BINUS has opened the door for the audience to develop themselves. Therefore, we believe that AIESEC in BINUS will always develop the program even better.
