#GetToKnowEBs : Meet our LCVP EwA!
✨Arsy Nur Dinarti✨

This week, our current Local Committee Vice President of Engagement with AIESEC (LCVP EwA) Arsy, shares several important lessons from her experience that we ought to learn.

“Be what you want to be not who you want to be.” Arsy said.

Here are some of the questions we asked Arsy:

  • What is the motivation when you decides to join AIESEC besides the feeling of wanting to try?

I noticed that the only way that I can grow as a better person is to challenge myself and take things up to the next level. AIESEC also provides a professional work experience and knowledge that could be useful for my future career.

  • Why did you decide to develop your leadership skill in AIESEC in BINUS?

I believe that AIESEC in BINUS is one of the best LCs existed in Indonesia with lots of skillful members. Moreover, the organization is structured well with a great working style too, where it requires you to be professional, do tasks efficiently, while staying true to yourself. Therefore, I could maximize the opportunities to develop my leadership skills and enjoy my journey here.

  • Who is your role model that motivates you and keeps you innovating at AIESEC?

This might sound cliche, but I don’t really have an exact role model as I get inspired by everyone surrounding me. Just by observing the way a person behave, you could always learn a thing or two from them. The aspects of a person that usually get me inspired are the abilities of being responsible, managing stress and staying positive.

  • When did you realized that AIESEC truly helped yourself to grow?

I could already feel that AIESEC has helped me to grow since I joined the organization, because right after I became an official member, I got immediately exposed to doing things out of my comfort zone. I think that is already the first step towards becoming the better version of myself.

  • In your opinion, where this leadership experience will take your step further ?

The experiences that I gained will definitely help me to become a person with more defined goals, desire to help people and to be stronger when facing any struggles. Overall, it helps me improve my interpersonal skills and how I would react to certain situations.

  • How you gain your motivation back when things get tough?

When things get tough, I made sure to stay calm, put my best effort and ask if I’m unsure about certain issue. My two biggest motivations are remembering that those are my responsibilities and things that I look forward to after I completed my job (such as watching Netflix, playing some games, or hanging out with friends).
