Poverty in Indonesia

Poverty in Indonesia has been one of the most serious problems since the old days. However, governments always search and find what is the perfect solution to prevent poverty.
It seems that programs and solutions from government to kick out poverty has changed the economy of Indonesia! After the GDP has decreased significantly from the period of January 2016, GDP has shown indication of improvement on July 2016.

BRAVO!

With that said, here are four facts about poverty in Indonesia:
#1. URBAN AND RURAL
Indonesia poverty take place in both urban and rural areas. Thus, this is one of the most challenging problems for the entire citizen including government.

#2. 11% OF THE POPULATION LIVES IN POVERTY
Indonesia’s citizen has reached the amount of 255,461,700 people. This mean around 28,100,787 number of people in Indonesia suffer poverty. It sounds a huge amount of number but, according to researches that between 2006 and 2013, 10 million climbed out poverty. In addition, almost 50% poverty reduction since 1999. It caused the number of unemployment decrease too.

#3. 16th LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD
Government has cut down many budgets and increasing the salary of civil employee from IDR 800 to IDR 3,5 million. In fact, the economy of agriculture rise up as well as taxes.

#4. GDP INCREASED TO 5,02%
GDP in Indonesia increasing from 4,82% to 5,02% in the year of 2015 to 2016. However, between the second and third quarter of 2016, there is a slight reduction from 5,19% to 5,02%.
