National Stop Bullying Day

Rebecca from Florida, USA, ended her life on September 9, 2013, after experiencing bullying at school and in social media for one year by two of her female friends, she was even told to drink bleach and die. Rebecca had to quit school after trying to commit suicide by cutting her veins in December 2012.
She later entered a new school where she hoped to start anew, however it seemed to provev her wrong as both bullies still continued to bully her through social media. Feeling that she had nowhere to run from the bullies, Rebecca then decided to end her life as a resort.

The bullies later regret their doing, stating “Yes, I bully Rebecca and she committed suicide. But I do not want to know,” he wrote on Facebook. Both bullies of Rebecca were arrested by the police.

Bullying is the act in which one or more people try to hurt or control others by violent means. There are many types of bullying; first there’s harm in physical forms such as hitting, pushing, and so forth and second, in the form of verbal insults like snapping and using harsh words.

National Stop Bullying Day, which is referred to by some as “Unity Day” is observed annually on the second Wednesday in October. This annual designation is designed to bring awareness of the need to stand up against and put an end to bullying.
