During the current pandemic, many things were disappointing. Understandable so. Normal life that we used to live, can not be obtained anymore. Many lives out there have been threatened by this tragedy. We are all affected by many of our own assumptions and various other things. We have experienced trauma, and grief due to a pandemic situation. It is very important for us to be aware of the difficulties of the world. However, at the same time we must help ourselves and those around us not to sink into despair. We all must be able to limit our anxiety and sadness by thinking that things will continue to get better and there is hope in a pandemic like this. With some intentional effort, many positive things by getting new skills and hobbies that we can do at home.

There are several ways we can do to think positively in a pandemic situation:

  1. Be optimistic and have faith!
Being optimistic means that we have the ability to see hope success for his future (Caprara & Steca 2006). Many people see this pandemic as a disaster, but we should see this pandemic as a challenge to find a solution. And we must have faith that this pandemic can quickly resolved and keep praying, because with prayer nothing is impossible.
  1. Gratitude

Always being grateful is very much needed during a pandemic. Gratitude has a consistently close relationship with greater happiness. Gratitude helps us to have positive emotions, relish good experiences, and improve our health. Many things we can be thankful for, like quality time with family and relatives.

  2. Exercise

Every movement that we do such as exercising at home can affect our mood. Many benefits that we can get from exercising. Apart from a healthy body, after exercise our mood can be good and of course we can think more positively about the situation.

  3. Self Care
Rather than we watch the news about the COVID-19 pandemic, we better do something else that can make ourselves more relax. Because watching news about current conditions can certainly make us think negatively and add to our worries. We can listen to some songs we like, or watch a movie, or we can also learn something that we have never tried (cooking, sewing, playing music).
  4. Limit toxic thingsWe all know that toxic people can bring bad influences indirectly into ourselves and our minds. Gossips, being self-centered will greatly affect the current state. Although we can protect ourselves from such people, eliminating toxic people is very important during this pandemic. It’s better to choose to spend time with loved ones who display healthy behaviors and increase your well-being, not reduce it.We also need to limit ourselves from seeing too much news and rumors on social media. Seeing too much news and rumors that is not necessarily true, can make our psychological state disturbed and add stress during this pandemic.

Even though this is a scary and sad moments, we can certainly try to be positive. By being positive, we can transmit this positivity to those around us. No matter how simple your efforts are, they all play a role in stopping the spread of disease and keeping the situation under control.
