IMMERSION HIMSISFO 2023: BRIDGE

Higher education has become more than just lectures and attending classes. Nowadays, students need to experience a variety of experiences that can complement their knowledge with a broader understanding of the world. One effective way to do this is through Immersion programs, which enable students to understand the culture, technology, and education of other countries. The Information Systems Student Association or HIMSISFO itself holds an annual international event known as Immersion HIMSISFO which is open to BINUS University students, especially students from the School of Information Systems.

Immersion HIMSISFO 2023 has the theme “BRIDGE: Broadening Relationship to Develop Our Global Education” which is intended as a bridge that helps students of the School of Information Systems to develop further and keep updating their knowledge of technology. This event was held for six days and five nights, from 9 to 14 October 2023 in South Korea. During this event, Immersion participants can explore several important aspects of technological development in South Korea and also experience the country’s culture and daily life.

Company Visit, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI)
At Bank Negara Indonesia, we were welcomed by BINUS University alumni who had worked at the bank. Besides that, there were also leaders and several officials who gave presentations about the technological developments in Korea, especially the banking department. They’ve also introduced their office culture as well as various interesting and useful information.

University Visit, Yonsei University
Arriving at Yonsei University, we were welcomed by Yonsei University student ambassadors. We were introduced to the various facilities they have and explained some of the unique functions of the campus facilities. Besides that, we also did a campus tour which took us to their historic buildings where their iconic statue is located.

University Visit, Dongguk University
Arriving at Dongguk University, we were led by Dongguk University officers to the presentation room. The presentation begins with an introduction to the history, degrees, and the top alumni of Dongguk University. Besides that we also did a campus tour led by Dongguk University student ambassadors. On the campus tour, we visited various facilities available at Dongguk University.

Tourist Attraction
Apart from our main destinations for company visits and university visits, we also visited several tourist attractions, such as Namsan Tower, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Myeongdong, Namdaemun, Insadong, Hongdae, Itaewon, and the Han River.
