During a freshman’s new beginning, EXPO plays a part in introducing them to the active and organizational part of BINUS University. We had the pleasure of welcoming our B30s with open hands into a brand new world–much like Harry Potter–a step into an environment full of fun and simply magic. With the theme of “Hogwarts”, HIMWARTS aimed to bring a whimsical beginning for the freshmen’s academic journey and a passage connecting them to our department.

EXPO was held on the 15th of August 2026. Although given limited time, HIMWARTS managed to pull off a fantastical world inside a simple classroom, with floor-to-ceiling decorations decked out in Harry Potter themes. In the morning, to create a loud and exciting atmosphere, HIMWARTS participated in the big parade around the Anggrek campus. The parade members were very wild and fun as they roamed around chanting HIMSI’s catchphrase. Soon after, the Freshmen were greeted with friendly smiles and warm welcomes as they entered the magical classroom. Inside, they were given an explanation by the HIMWARTS committee about HIMSI’s work program, sectional departments, benefits, and a great introduction to the staff. After that was finished, the freshmen were free to roam around the class and take pictures with the photobooth set up by HIMSWARTS.

Through HIMSWARTS, we hope that the new B30s have gained new knowledge and opened up new and exciting opportunities for them to join HIMSI’s strong bond. We hope that through the magic of HIMSWARTS, the B30s will have a newfound determination to shape their college life for the next years of their life alongside the English Department members in BINUS University.
