Why Burnout is Dangerous to Us?

As English Literature students, especially at Binus, we have to know about burnout, like what is its cause? What type of prolix has a significant impact on our lives and how to avoid a long-windedness. Long windedness is the state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by overloaded or prolonged stress. It can come up because of overwhelmed tasks or deadlines of homework. Burnout can come up anytime, for example, playing a game without taking a break, piles of assignments, and something that can make you tired emotionally. Because of burnout, our daily activities become disturbed, and our mood too.

The cause of burnout can come from everything that makes us struggle: overwhelmed by tasks or homework, never managing time, perfectionist attitudes, frustration, and or any kinds of things that make you feel bad. The type of person who can easily cause burnout is the pessimistic person because the cynical one always thought that they were always overthinking about their work and excessive expectations. Also, it can happen when a person teases us, like, make fun of our project and assignment. However, it is best to know what kind of burnout we are dealing with right now.

Our productivity was interrupted because of the effect of physician burnout. Since the world is in a pandemic right now, it’ll be better to know our limits and take care of ourselves, even though there is a lot of college homework.

Emotional signs of burnout This is the most common burnout that we face and found every time. Emotional symptoms of burnout are when we can’t accept ourselves and always feel we are the worst person who lived on earth.

Behavior can also change when we are in a state of burnout. Some people have this kind of burnout, especially me as the author, when I feel like I got burnout. I like to isolate myself from others and do anything that can separate me from the crowded place.

Behavioral signs contain:

–       Isolating yourself from the other.

–       Avoid crowds.

–       Skipping work.

–       Procrastinating.

As an English literature student, I have advice for you guys! If there is so much work, try to manage your time and do the job little by little to help you finish it easier. Then try to read a book, especially a book that you like, for example, a comic book, a novel, and maybe other kinds of apps on your phone. Also, you have to take a rest too. Take a while, like one hour, and if you need to take days, why not! Because if you do that you can be more flexible with your work in the future. Stop procrastinating if you have a lot of work. Even though we need time to rest, just take other shortcuts like do the work little by little, and don’t forget to check your deadline. Then when you have time to pray to God also can help you a lot to avoid burnout. I hope this article can help you feel better or fight your burnout; thank you.
