This is How You Gain Immediate Approval from Your Content Manager

As a marketing geek, I’m always curious how my friend — who is currently a content creator intern at a major flagship firm — manages to produce more than 5 content each week when I can barely produce a nice readable article in a month. There were many other occasions when I kept tweaking my content till my senior gave me a thumbs up.

My genius content creator friend eventually disclosed her secret after much begging and persuasion. Her lecturer probably showed her this method called 10x Content by Rand Fishkin more than she can remember as a marketing student. With five phases, the goal is to create content that is 10 times better than the highest-ranking result for a specific keyword(s).

Surely, this “10x content” can’t just be any random, non-researched notion. There are a lot of checklists to go over in order to fit this high-ranking content. To be designated as “10x content,” the content must be unique, amazing, motivating, problem-solving, trustworthy, and all those other positive adjectives. It’s not an easy task — at least not for my current level of comprehension. Well, this genius friend of mine remarked that there are certainly ways I can accomplish this. As I previously indicated, there are five steps you can take to accomplish this feat — all of which must be accomplished in order.

Step 1: Gain deep insight

First, consider a situation you’d like to address. To begin with, the topic can be anything — as long as the vast majority of people are interested in it: a current trend, a recently released high-rated film, or even a recently established k-pop group. Now that you’ve decided on a topic to write about, you need to understand why others are interested in it.

The key goal is to break down the issue into smaller, more specific sections so you can get inside the reader’s head and address the essence of their question about the subject.

Let’s take a look at an example of a topic: “I’m curious as to what the most widely used coding languages are.” This topic may be renamed “Help me in deciding which new programming language to learn.” You can approach this topic from a variety of perspectives: you may talk about how the language is used in various industries, or you could talk about usage statistics, or you could talk about expert opinions on the language or even the challenges. It could be anything, and there are numerous possibilities to consider.

Step 2: Be unique

Well, uniqueness has never been one of my strong suits — and it may not be a majority of people’s either! However, in order to stand out from the crowd, it is critical to provide content that is distinctive. You can begin by quickly jotting down your ideas on a piece of paper or creating a classic old mindmap to brainstorm a few different approaches to the topic.

Try to stay away from the commonplace concepts that you’ll come across on the internet. After you’ve jotted down your ideas, you can come up with one that’s unique and hasn’t been utilized before.

Step 3: Use powerful methods to provide the answer

Now that you’ve discovered a unique and deep insight, you can start thinking about the answer. Don’t rely on the answers that are easy to get by. Remember step 2: be unique!

Make a high-quality solution that is uniquely yours, difficult to duplicate, and stands out from the crowd. You can conduct a statistical analysis or ask an expert to respond to the question. This stage may be time-consuming because you must go to all of these sources in the library or on the internet and obtain as much information as possible. However, once you’ve completed this step, you’ll be 70% of the way to creating a compelling and distinctive article that will undoubtedly attract a large number of readers.

Step 4: Present your content creatively

Now that you got a unique and powerful answer, isn’t it a shame to not present it creatively as well? As that cherry on top, you should present your unique ideas and hard-to-achieve answers with an equally unique presentation.

Consult your graphic designer friend, or create it yourself by writing an article or perhaps recording a video explaining your content.

Step 5: Practice, practice, practice

Unless you’re a real natural at this, you may not get the perfect “10x content” on the first try. Just like your old elementary school teacher might say, the only way to get good at something is by continuous practice and this is no exception! It certainly took years for my friend to develop a “sixth sense” over creating unique content — I have tried this 5 to 7 times, but I still can’t deliver a unique content that well either!

Those are the five steps to achieving the “10x content” we all desired. This strategy has undeniably aided my friend in producing content that is so exceptional that she is promoted so early in her career. As long as you try sticking to this method, I hope it may also help you gain that immediate approval and early promotions from your managers!
