To promote BINUS’s “Nyontek=Drop Out” Campaign, BIC will give you some tips to prepare yourself before the mid-exam. Follow these steps and you will be freed from cheating, alias Nyontek!

1. Skim

On the night before the test you will be tempted with the thick book and you have to memories everything in one night. Don’t do that! This is a waste of time. Instead, focus on chapter headings, footnotes, the course syllabus (the subjects listed on here are probably the ones the professor deems most important), study questions, and chapter reviews.

  1. Don’t cram!

Don’t wait until the night before your exam to begin studying for it. Instead, begin preparing now! You have to do time management so you can get a head start on your upcoming midterms. Setting aside study time, review your test material and or make a summary. It will make you feel more prepared.

  1. Attend review session and study in a group

You have to attend every review session that held by your lecture. It will help you to cover the main material for the test. Aside from that studying in a group with friends will also help you to understand the lesson better.

  1. Find an appropriate place for study

For some people they have to sit in a quiet place where they can stay focused and uninterrupted for studying. For example library, empty class or your private room.

  1. Stay away from social media

Line, Instagram, Path and Snapchat are all unnecessary distractions, so while studying, disconnect for an hour or so. Then you will be surprised at how much you can accomplish when technology doesn’t get in the way.

  1. Stay healthy

During midterms, it’s easy to overindulge on junk food or up your caffeine intake. Don’t fall into these habits! Instead, schedule your time for healthy meals and regular exercise, and don’t forget to shower at least 2x a day! You will find that these things may help you to stay focused.

  1. Take breaks

Unfortunately, a 12-hour marathon study session won’t do anything but make you crazy. Instead, take short breaks every hour or so, even if only for 10 minutes. Go outside and breathe a fresh air may be just what you needed to clear your head.
