#GetToKnowEBs : Meet our LCVP ER/MKT!

✨Shannon Lyadi Wijaya✨

This week, our current Local Committee Vice President of External Relations and Marketing (LCVP ER/MKT) Shannon, shares several important lessons from her experience that we ought to learn.

“May all the faults and sorrow make us heading towards the version of ourselves that we hope to become” Shannon said.

Here are some of the questions we asked Shannon:

  • What is the motivation when you decides to join AIESEC besides the feeling of wanting to try?

AIESEC has been catch my eyes since the first time I find out more about the organization. I just feel like I am belong to this leadership organization and I am willing to contribute more in AIESEC as a members. Along with that, I feel like AIESEC would help me so much in developing my skills and for my future career ahead.

  • Why did you decide to develop your leadership skill in AIESEC in BINUS?

As it already known, AIESEC is one if the biggest leadership organization out there. I realized that the quality that AIESEC seeks and need would be a high quality as well. Thus, I believe that AIESEC is capable to help me develop my leadership skill alongside with another valuable skills (ex. Public Speaking, Analytical Thinking, etc)

  • Who is your role model that motivates you and keeps you innovating at AIESEC?

I think the role model that motivates me and keeps me innovating in this organization mainly are myself. I know it might seems a little bit narcissistic but if I reflect to my self back then, the reasons why I stilk want to keep going and keep innovating is because my ambitious self to seek more insight and knowledge. But of course, behind that big motivation there is a lot of people who always supported me and become the reason why still survive today to keep going.

  • When did you realized that AIESEC truly helped yourself to grow?

I realized that AIESEC truly make myself grow is when I was on my last term as a Staff of Talent Development and Analytics and when I am on my process to become an LCVP ER/MKT. The staff phase is making me realize that I have to fill up my knowledge more, be more mindful, and actve. As with the LCVP process, I realized that all of the knowledge that I gained from AIESEC has lead me to become a VP and making myself to become the new version of me who is more confident, responsible, motivated, and thoughtful.

  • In your opinion, where this leadership experience will take your step further ?

I think this leadership experience that I have gained from AIESEC would take me to the journey that is more challenging but also valuable, insightful, and make me grow even more where I hope this leadership experience also will make me able to find my true passion.

  • How you gain your motivation back when things get tough?

I usually do rants about everything to my best friend, reading lots of fanfiction, binge watch my favorite movie or series or variety show, catch up with my friends, or maybe just get some sleep, eat more, and strolling social media. But, keep in mind that the things that I do wouldn’t be effective if I don’t know my priority and did not mindful enough with my responsibilities. So, props to the people that support me behind my back as a VP especially my team members!
